Dong Dinh Museum is located in the middle of a winding mountain pass on Hoang Sa Road, Son Tra Peninsula, Da Nang. From here, head towards Linh Ung Pagoda, less than 11 km from the city center. Dong Dinh relic site is quite large, with a total area of nearly 10,000 m2.
This place is also likened to a memorial garden, with beautiful classical architecture, creating a wonderful space for visitors to connect with nature, explore cultural and spiritual values. The name "Dong Dinh" of the museum comes from the appearance of most of the Dong Dinh trees around. This is a type of Areca tree, often growing densely in the Son Tra forest area, playing an important role in the ecological landscape of this area.
Surely, anyone will be impressed when visiting here.
Lan Nhi (24 years old, Da Nang) shared: "When you step into the museum, you will immediately feel the peace, a cool green space, close to the nature of the mountains and forests. This is the reason why Dong Dinh Museum is often called by another poetic name - the garden of memories".
In a nostalgic space like this, the trees surrounding the museum become a highlight. They are one of the rare trees in the modern city, existing only in the memories of the past. Mixed in with the lush green forest, the chirping of birds, the image of an ancient house with mossy old tiled roof appears like a picture of an old village.
The current museum keeper said: "Dong Dinh Museum is home to more than a hundred artifacts dating from 100 to 2,500 years old. The artifacts come from many different cultures, from Sa Huynh, Dai Viet, Champa, to China... by the talented artist Doan Huy Giao".
Simple rustic architecture reminiscent of old houses.
"The climate at Dong Dinh Museum is always pleasant, so visitors can easily visit and experience it at any time of the year. However, because the museum is located deep in the forest, you should avoid visiting on rainy days to ensure safety and not hinder your visit," Lan Nhi said.
Dong Dinh Museum is divided into four separate visiting spaces, including: fine arts exhibition area, antiques exhibition area, ethnology exhibition area, and fishing village memory house.
