To meet the travel needs and desires for unique experiences during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake, Vietnam Railways Corporation has launched a new and incredibly attractive tourism product: the Spring Train. On New Year's Eve, two special trains will depart from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, offering passengers a meaningful and memorable journey.
Two Lunar New Year trains, train SE1 departing from Hanoi station at 10:10 PM on January 28th and train SE4 departing from Saigon station at 7:30 PM on the same day, marked the beginning of endless festivities. These trains featured two uniquely designed community carriages, their exteriors adorned with artwork depicting traditional Tet folk activities such as flower markets and calligraphy.
On trains SE1 and SE4, the railway provides two uniquely designed, dedicated community carriages (one community carriage per train).
The interior of the carriages is designed with cherry blossom and apricot blossom motifs, symbolizing the Lunar New Year in both North and South Vietnam, and serves as a popular photo spot on the train, promising to be a hit. These two communal carriages will also host cultural exchange activities throughout the journey.
"The train is a new tourism product, launching for the first time this Tet holiday and promising many experiences for domestic and international passengers," a representative of the company said. To create excitement for the new year, according to our research, passengers participating in the "Spring Train" will enjoy many interesting and attractive experiences throughout the journey. Accordingly, at the moment of New Year's Eve, they will be immersed in a festive atmosphere with a countdown party on board, receive lucky money, participate in a lucky draw with many attractive gifts from the Corporation and sponsors; participate in folk games; and enjoy typical Tet dishes…
Passengers with tickets for the "Spring Train" will get to participate in many fun and exciting experiences throughout the journey.
Additionally, before boarding the train, passengers can visit an exhibition by a group of 40 Vietnamese artists on the second floor of Hanoi Station, and participate in a painting workshop at Saigon Station on the second day of Tet.
According to the railway industry, the "Spring Train" is a new tourism product making its debut during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025, promising many exciting and attractive experiences for domestic passengers and international tourists in the early days of the new year.
Last year, the company also collaborated with several partners to launch a variety of tourist trains serving passengers, ranging from luxury options like SJourney to budget-friendly options with diverse experiences such as La Reine (Da Lat - Trai Mat).
