The Hot Air Balloon Festival is an activity within the framework of the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week in 2022. Taking place from December 8 to December 11, the Hot Air Balloon Festival received a warm welcome from the people and tourists. It can be said that this is one of the special, new and unique activities with the model of "festival within the festival", contributing to improving the quality of tourism products to promote the image of Ho Chi Minh City destination to domestic and international tourists at the end of the year.
Hot Air Balloon Festival is an activity within the framework of the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week in 2022.
Ms. Pham Nguyen Hong Dao (Tan An City, Long An) expressed her excitement: "This is the first time I have seen a hot air balloon in real life. When I heard about this event, I arranged my time so that this morning I could depart from Long An to Ho Chi Minh City to see it with my own eyes."
Not only Ms. Dao, many young people present here also took the opportunity to "pose" in front of the hot air balloon flying area.
The Hot Air Balloon Festival received a warm welcome from locals and tourists.
According to the Organizing Committee, during the festival, people can not only watch hot air balloons but also experience flying on hot air balloons and see the city from above. However, the lack of consistent information has made it difficult for people to access information.
Ms. Thu Huyen, residing in District 8, Ho Chi Minh City, said that her family saw information on social networks about the experience of a hot air balloon at an altitude of 70m for about 15 minutes. However, after spending 700,000 VND per person to experience it, Ms. Huyen felt quite disappointed. She said: "The altitude of the hot air balloon is actually quite low, only flying about 10m for 5 minutes. For me, 700,000 VND for this experience is unreasonable."
Ms. Huyen's family traveled from District 8 to experience a hot air balloon flight.
To answer these questions, the organizers shared that 15 minutes would include the time to pull the balloon up and down, along with the flight time and altitude would also depend on the weather. However, the information provided seemed incomplete and did not answer people's questions, leading to an experience that was not as expected.
Besides the comments from customers who have experienced the hot air balloon service, there are many tourists who have not had time to experience the hot air balloon flight due to lack of information.
Ms. Giang Nguyen (23 years old), a tourist from Vung Tau, shared: "Our group could not find any information saying that the hot air balloon only flies from 7am to 9am. In addition, the location was not given detailed instructions, so it was a bit difficult for people from other provinces like me. When we arrived, because I did not know the time, I was 10 minutes late and even more sadly, today was the last day of the festival. In the end, we did not have time to experience this interesting activity."
Ms. Giang Nguyen, a tourist from Vung Tau, missed out on the exciting experience at the Hot Air Balloon Festival due to lack of information.
The event has shown the ability to grasp the trend of promoting the modern image of Ho Chi Minh City tourism with innovation and creativity. However, promoting the image of tourism must go hand in hand with transmitting information on online platforms to connect more fully with the people.
