The “Colorful Hanoi” hot air balloon festival took place this morning, March 25, and will last until Sunday, March 27, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. This is one of the events within the framework of the program."Get on Hanoi 2022", organized by Hanoi Department of Tourism, in response to the full reopening of the tourism industry.
Hanoi Department of Tourism also coordinated with Chien Thang Company to organize hot air balloon flights for tourists to experience hot air ballooning to see the city from above.
There are two types of balloons used: class 1, which cannot carry people, and class 7, which is 22 m high and about 18 m in diameter according to international standards. Class 7 balloons can lift up to 600 kg and have flown in several other Southeast Asian countries.
During the opening program on March 25, visitors were allowed free admission. From March 26, the entrance fee is 60,000 VND/person, children under 1.1 m are free. Tickets to visit the hot air balloon cost 25,000 VND; flight tickets are 150,000 VND/child and 300,000 VND/adult, including insurance.
In addition, at 8:00 p.m. on March 25, there will be a performance of 10 level 1 hot air balloons (10 m high) and 1 level 7 hot air balloon (22 m high) hanging low in the Ly Thai To flower garden area and Dinh Tien Hoang street (Hoan Kiem district), for people to experience and take photos.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism said that after this festival, hot air balloons will be a regular tourism product of Hanoi to attract tourists and promote tourism.
