Since August 2023, UNIQLO has organized the UTme! T-shirt design contest with the theme "Connecting Vietnam and Japan," attracting participation from many talented young artists nationwide. Five winning entries were printed on T-shirts and sold at four UNIQLO stores: UNIQLO Hoan Kiem, UNIQLO Vincom Pham Ngoc Thach, UNIQLO Saigon Centre, and UNIQLO Dong Khoi. All proceeds from this collection (up to the end of December 2023) have been donated to build schools.
The Trong Tro kindergarten school was inaugurated on February 1, 2024, with a scale of 2 classrooms, 1 kitchen, and 1 toilet, and was handed over for use by 35 Hmong students and two teachers.
To date, together with the Hope Foundation, UNIQLO has donated more than 20,000 clothing items to students in the mountainous regions of Dien Bien, Son La, Ha Giang, and Thanh Hoa, as well as to people in flood-affected areas of Central Vietnam, and 4,000 AIRism shirts and 1,000 face masks to frontline workers such as doctors, nurses, and medical staff during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ms. Nguyen Xuan Tu – Executive Director of the Hope Foundation – shared her thoughts on the significance of building the Trong Tro kindergarten in Mu Cang Chai.
At the event, UNIQLO launched its "Ease Into Lightness" collection, introducing a range of new products with diverse styles, a soothing color palette, and the use of natural, highly functional fabrics.
With the theme "Light and Carefree Season," the focus of the Spring/Summer 2024 collection is on comfortable, practical designs that meet diverse needs in life, from school and work to travel, etc. The most notable is the T-shirt, one of UNIQLO's most beloved product lines worldwide.
