Vietnam Airlines launches off-airport check-in and baggage handling service.

With the aim of continuously improving the quality and convenience of airport check-in services, Vietnam Airlines recently officially launched its in-town check-in service for passengers and baggage. This service is provided by Vietnam Airport Ground Services Company Limited (VIAGS – a subsidiary of Vietnam Airlines).

This event marks Vietnam Airlines as the first and only airline in Vietnam to bring safe and convenient in-town check-in services, keeping pace with global aviation trends, to passengers in Vietnam.

The in-town check-in service will assist passengers with flight procedures, seat selection, baggage check-in, and receiving boarding passes and baggage tags at designated service centers in major cities such as Hanoi (from October 12, 2018) and Da Nang (from the beginning of November 2018). This service applies to domestic Vietnam Airlines flights departing from Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi or Da Nang, with offices open daily, including Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Passengers can complete in-town check-in for flights on the same day, up to two hours before departure.

In-town check-in is an optimal convenience that helps passengers avoid the inconvenience of having to travel with bulky luggage from the city to the airport, saving time compared to checking in at the airport counter, and allowing them to fully enjoy their trip, shopping, or working in the city. In-town check-in has been implemented in many countries around the world such as Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, etc.

Currently, Vietnam Airlines offers the most diverse range of check-in services for passengers, with six different options: check-in at airport counters, at kiosks, on the website www.vietnamairlines.com, by mobile phone, via mobile app, and check-in in the city, allowing passengers to easily choose the check-in method that best suits their personal needs.
