According to Decision No. 2345/QD-BGTVT dated August 8, 2017, of the Ministry of Transport, from October 1st, adjustments to the price levels and price ranges of some specialized aviation services at airports will be applied. Airlines must recalculate and restructure their airfare price ranges accordingly.
According to the head of the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority: "The State is increasing airport service fees but not raising the ceiling on airfares. Therefore, it will have little impact on passengers." The new fees are regulated by the Ministry of Transport, and Vietnam Airlines, as well as other airlines, are responsible for collecting and reimbursing them.
In addition to adjusting this fee, Vietnam Airlines will not increase transportation fares. The airline affirms that all transportation fare items, taxes, fees, and charges are clearly detailed on the ticket. "Passengers should carefully check this information when issuing tickets to ensure they are not charged incorrectly or for charges outside of regulations," the announcement stated.
According to a recent announcement from the Ministry of Transport, if the new fee levels are applied, the input costs for airlines will increase by an additional 161.53 billion VND, resulting in a 4,531 VND increase per passenger ticket.
In addition, the average domestic passenger service and security fee increased by 25,854 VND per passenger. Therefore, the total additional cost for a passenger to pay for an air ticket is 30,385 VND.
