Vingroup launches its first animated film.

After nearly 11 months of numerous trials, revisions, and tireless efforts from the production team, the first four 5-minute episodes will be broadcast on VinTaTa's official YouTube channel at 12 PM, 4 PM, 6 PM, and 8 PM. Subsequent episodes will be aired regularly at 8 PM on Thursdays and 4 PM on Sundays every week.

With the mission of "bringing laughter to children" as its guiding principle, "Monta in the Peculiar Galaxy" is the first film produced by the Vietnamese animation studio VinTaTa. The series revolves around Monta, a mischievous, cute, yet brave and quick-witted monkey. Monta and his "peculiar" friends travel to "peculiar" places to solve extremely "peculiar" problems.

With its unique and imaginative open-ended storyline, along with a cast of quirky yet lovable characters with distinctive and memorable personalities, "Monta in the Peculiar Galaxy" will take young audiences on fun journeys where they can find meaningful messages conveyed in a relatable and genuine way.

Speaking to the press, Nguyen Phi Phi Anh, Director of VinTaTa Animation Studio, said: “After nearly a year of following the journey of the mischievous monkey Monta and his friends to 'weird' planets across the galaxy, we have gained a deeper understanding of the world and characters in the film, thereby building a consistent storyline with the most 'bizarre' ideas. We hope to satisfy the creative minds of children and become a beloved 'spiritual treat' in every Vietnamese family.”

“Monta in the Peculiar Galaxy” originated from a script idea by the author group The Whale Hunters – consisting of 4 members: Nguyen Hoang Vu (1993), Luong Vo Thanh Luan (1988), Sy Huu Vinh (1988) and Duong Minh Loc (1988) – the team that won first prize in the “Famous Author” competition organized by Vintata at the end of 2017.

The detailed script for the film was subsequently developed with the support of veteran screenwriter Jeffrey Scott, a five-time and three-time Daytime Emmy Award nominee for Outstanding Animated Program. With experience creating animation for globally renowned brands such as Disney's DuckTales and Marvel's superhero films, Jeffrey contributed to bringing humor in an internationally recognized language, while still highlighting the warm and profound nature of the Vietnamese people.
