That was also the first feeling that photographer HaiLeCao - who is attached to wild natural lands - shared when returning to Lan Ha Bay, a place he had visited many times but never ceased to be surprised. "Freedom is the feeling every time I set foot on Cat Ba Island. The nature here is diverse, the scenery is wild and dramatic to the point that it makes people feel like they are entering another world," he said.
Strange limestone blocks rise up in the cool blue water of Lan Ha Bay
Cat Ba - the gateway to Lan Ha Bay, is famous for its rugged terrain and many untouched areas that have not yet been exploited for tourism. That makes this place a "picky" destination, but an ideal choice for those who love to explore and love the absolute tranquility of nature. "The less human footprints, the more I feel free to immerse myself in the land and sky", shared NAG HaiLeCao.

Amidst wild nature, people are freer and more liberal.
For those who do not like to plan too much or have a detailed itinerary, Lan Ha is the ideal place to relax and enjoy. “I do not expect too much before each trip, especially when returning to wild nature. Because I know for sure: nature always has dozens of surprises, you cannot predict or expect anything other than opening your heart and letting yourself melt into each moment,” he expressed.

The unique natural picture that Lan Ha Bay paints
Lan Ha is a small bay located in the south of Ha Long Bay, in the Cat Ba archipelago (Hai Phong), surrounded by nearly 400 large and small islands with unique shapes. Different from the magnificence of Ha Long Bay, Lan Ha has a quiet, separate beauty with clear blue water all year round, fine white sand beaches hidden at the foot of the mountains, and especially "sky wells" - a rare terrain that only appears in some special bays.

Impressed with the unique skylights here
“I was particularly impressed with the skylights standing tall in the middle of the ocean, which are home to many species of seabirds. The rocks have a strange curving structure, forming a well arch, inside is a pool of clear, cool blue water. Believe me, your eyes will be wide open when standing in the middle of these skylights,” said photographer HaiLeCao.
Not only possessing unique scenery, Lan Ha is also charming because of the life of gentle fishermen, attached to the sea. Sharing with Travellive, the young photographer added: "People here live in harmony with nature, relying on the sea. They are very lovely, friendly and especially the seafood here is so delicious that after eating, you will forget the way home."
Not only possessing unique scenery, Lan Ha is also charming by the life of gentle fishermen, attached to the sea.
During his trips, NAG HaiLeCao often experiences a variety of activities: swimming, SUP, kayaking, mountain climbing, fishing with fishermen, or watching night phosphorescence - a rare phenomenon when the sea sparkles under the moonlight. But for him, the most sublime feeling is still when climbing high cliffs and jumping freely into the cool water below. "A breathtaking feeling of freedom", he described. However, he also emphasized: "This is an extreme sport, requiring skills, physical strength and experience... you should not try it if you are not fully prepared".

Freely let yourself go in the deep blue water
Or small and simple in the middle of vast nature
Experiencing Lan Ha Bay through the lens and emotions of a photographer like HaiLeCao not only evokes the natural beauty of this bay, but also arouses in each person a desire to explore and live fully in the vast nature. Perhaps, it is the wildness, quietness and surprise that makes Lan Ha Bay not only a tourist destination, but also a place to find the connection between people and the earth.
