Condé Nast Traveler magazine has just announced the results of its 2020 Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards poll, which included votes from over 715,000 readers worldwide. The award categories included the most popular country, best city, best resort, and best island getaway.
According to the results of the CNTraveler poll, Vietnam ranks 9th in the top 20 most popular countries in the world to visit, with 92.12 points.
Vietnam ranked 9th in the top 20 most favorite tourist destinations in the world, as voted by CNTraveler readers.
Italy topped the list of the 20 most popular tourist destinations in 2020. Sri Lanka came in second with 93.96 points. Portugal was honored in third place, Japan ranked fourth with 93.35 points, and Greece came in fifth with 93.32 points.
Besides Vietnam, three other Southeast Asian destinations also made the list: Indonesia ranked 6th with 92.98 points, Thailand 7th with 92.62 points, and Malaysia 15th with 90.6 points. Vietnam's 9th place ranking this year is one position higher than in 2019, when it was ranked 10th.
With its many attractive destinations, Vietnam has always been a favorite choice for many international tourists.
Condé Nast Traveler rated Vietnam as having countless places for tourists to explore, from major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Hoi An with its street food, natural landscapes, and sacred temples and pagodas. Vietnam, already famous as a backpacker's paradise, is rapidly transforming. The country, with its coastline stretching over 3,260 km, hides a multitude of beautiful beaches and islands, as well as majestic mountains, terraced rice fields, and ancient tombs.
