Established in 2017, the Lucteam theater troupe of director, Meritorious Artist Tran Luc brings to the audience a new and unique art form: conventional - expressionist theater. With the slogan "Contemporary breath in the quintessence of the East", Lucteam's artistic works are a combination of contemporary Western theater language and traditional Vietnamese theater, completely different from current Vietnamese theater.
“I struggled to choose a new path to take. Because with the power of modern entertainment media like now, audiences are provided with so much information and images, they no longer need to imagine. There is only one thing that drama can bring to the audience that modern entertainment technology cannot, which is to stimulate the audience's imagination,” said director and screenwriter Tran Luc.

In late 2022, early 2023, when artificial intelligence software such as Chat GPT, Midjourney... appeared with excellent creative, information searching and synthesizing skills, it caused a stir around the world. Once again, sociologists asked the same question: What will the post-AI (Artificial Intelligence) world look like? And will human society tolerate or fear superintelligences that are capable of going beyond control?
The play "Doll" offers a contemplative perspective when artificial intelligence breaks the boundary between reality and virtuality to invade the human world. In that chaotic context, what is real, what is virtual, what is genuine, what is artificial?
From a young, naive girl from the countryside to the city, a Vietnamese American tycoon, a calculating matchmaker and a young man with mysterious whereabouts. Four characters with four different shades that seem unrelated to each other, but are all entangled in a strange, tragicomic story that challenges conventional standards.

Over an hour of performance, director Tran Luc and the Lucteam crew brought to the audience a metaphorical story about modern society, where people, for some reason, have to live under a false cover, while artificial intelligence reigns supreme.

An eye-catching art performance, satisfying all senses with sound, light, physical choreography, stage arrangements in a bold contemporary style.
“Artists must always change to keep up with the audience. We must show the audience that performing arts have their own appeal and that only they have. The most important thing is to attract the audience,” director Tran Luc shared.
Changing to keep up with the audience, this spirit of enthusiasm and progress has become the guiding principle for the development of Lucteam. Choosing to pursue conventional theater, which is "picky" and still unfamiliar to the public, not only director Tran Luc but also the young actors have had to make every effort to bring excellent performances, to gradually conquer not only the demanding audience, but also the young generations who are "overwhelmed" by countless forms of modern entertainment.

Focusing on the actors' bodies, movements and choreography, perfectly interacting with the sound and light elements designed in a contemporary, sharp, abstract and magical artistic direction, the genre of conventional drama - expression breaks the traditional frameworks of the old stage, breathing into the soul of Eastern drama culture a strong, modern, liberal and full of personality breath.
Tran Luc's symbolic and expressive theatrical stages are like an oriental brocade combined with thorny "futuristic" jewelry, bringing the contrast into a glue that attracts the young generation to the traditional art of the country.
