Bark Air is a new airline founded by Bark, a well-known company specializing in dog products. This airline is designed specifically for dogs, aiming to provide a comfortable and safe flying experience for both dogs and their owners. Bark's ambitious project marks the beginning of a luxury air travel service designed exclusively for man's best friend.
Bark Air uses Gulfstream G-5 aircraft, specifically designed for dog comfort. The aircraft offers ample space and resting areas for dogs, as well as climate control and lighting systems tailored to their needs.
Furthermore, this place provides many amenities for dogs, such as food, water, toys, and beds. The airline also has a team of well-trained staff to take care of dogs throughout the flight.
Even a dog has its own seat in the first-class cabin on this plane.
Bark Air's first flight took place on May 23, 2024, from Westchester County Airport in New York to Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles. This flight carried 20 dogs and their owners.
Thanks to a charter partnership with Argus, a platinum-rated airline – an organization that rates flight safety – Bark can ensure top-notch safety and comfort for both their dogs and their owners.

The booking system is advertised as seamless and customer-friendly. A staff member will proactively contact travelers after booking to personalize the itinerary for each dog and owner. This individualized approach aims to meet every need and preference, creating a tailored and comfortable travel experience for passengers and their pets.
Each airline ticket for dogs will include a passenger tag for a human. Families can also purchase additional tickets if they wish to bring more people along. Besides the same flight safety regulations as a regular airplane, passengers should also be aware of other rules, such as children under 18 not being allowed on board.
Compared to pet-transport services on regular commercial flights, Bark Air's service is not cheap. A one-way flight from New York to Los Angeles in June of this year cost up to $6,000 per pair for one person and one pet. International flights, currently from New York to London, would cost around $8,000 per way.
