Bark Air is a new airline launched by Bark, a well-known dog products company. The airline is designed exclusively for dogs, aiming to provide a comfortable and safe flying experience for dogs and their owners. Bark’s ambitious project marks the beginning of a luxury airline service designed specifically for man’s best friend.
Bark Air uses Gulfstream G-5 aircraft, which are specially designed for dog comfort. The aircraft have plenty of space and resting areas for dogs, as well as climate control and lighting that can be adjusted to suit the dog's needs.
Not only that, this place also provides many amenities for dogs, such as food, water, toys and beds. The airline also has a team of well-trained staff to take care of dogs throughout the flight.
A dog also has its own seat in the first class cabin on this plane.
Bark Air's inaugural flight took place on May 23, 2024, from Westchester County Airport in New York to Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles. The flight carried 20 dogs and their owners.
By partnering with an airline that is platinum rated by Argus - the air safety rating organisation - Bark can ensure top safety and comfort for both dogs and their owners.

The booking system is touted as seamless and customer-friendly. A concierge will proactively contact guests after booking to personalize the itinerary for each dog and owner. This individual approach caters to every need and preference, creating a tailored, comfortable travel experience for both the passenger and their pet.
Each dog ticket comes with a human passenger card. Families can also purchase additional tickets if they want to bring more people along. In addition to the same safety regulations as a regular plane, customers should also pay attention to other rules such as children under 18 years old are not allowed on the plane.
Compared to the cost of sending pets on regular commercial flights, Bark Air’s service is not cheap. A one-way flight from New York to Los Angeles in June this year will cost up to $6,000 per person and pet. International flights, currently New York to London, will cost around $8,000 one way.
