Berlinale Shorts is the forum for short films within the festival. A place for films that look directly at reality objectively and without limitations. The filmmakers are artists aware of the possibilities of filmmaking forms and, moreover, they are always those who understand the current state of cinema. Berlinale Shorts are films that transcend what the naked eye sees and contribute to explaining and helping viewers understand those realities.

This year, the short films address very topical themes, from reality to surrealism, from magic to violence. These films tell of a world undergoing drastic change and increasingly threatening nature, forcing nature to adapt—in a detached and immoral way. But these cinematic works also speak of war and the pain of loss: How did they encounter this problem? How did they cope with it? And what will happen afterward?
The centerpiece of the film program is the German film "Three Stones for Jean Genet," a highly acclaimed film that has been screened at numerous film festivals. Its plot revolves around longing and vows, a city, a friendship, and a mysterious story.
The films will be screened with English and Vietnamese subtitles. Admission is free for all screenings.
