"I find peace, simplicity, and healing when I go camping. Living and immersing myself in nature makes me forget all the pressures of life," Nguyen Duc Hoan, a camping tour operator in Northern Vietnam, shared with Travellive. His main tours focus on locations such as Mo Ma - Lang Son, Ham Lon Lake - Soc Son, Tau Cave - Moc Chau, and deserted islands - Ha Long Bay. Of these, the Tau Cave and deserted island tours are organized by Duc Hoan in collaboration with the camping company Leu Phot.
If you're wondering where to go and what to do this September 2nd holiday, let Travellive help you discover these camping tours.
Nguyen Duc Hoan shared with Travellive some pristine camping spots in Northern Vietnam.
1. Hang Tau, Moc Chau
Hang Tau is known as a "primitive village," a place where the indigenous H'Mong people escape the hustle and bustle of the world. In a place without Wi-Fi, without phone signal, and without the conveniences of city life, all that remains is the word "peace."
During this 2-day, 1-night camping trip, visitors will enjoy the majestic beauty of Moc Chau on the route to conquer Tau Cave. At the same time, they can immerse themselves in the pristine beauty of the area, leaving behind the pressures and stresses of everyday life.
Camping at Hang Tau, you will witness firsthand a pristine and peaceful landscape. Enjoy the sunrise in the unspoiled village as a new day begins. Gaze at the surreal starry night sky, or explore the cultural beauty of the local people and enjoy the local H'Mong cuisine and specialties.

2. Deserted islands in the heart of Ha Long Bay
Ha Long Bay – a masterpiece of majestic nature – is a harmonious blend of the sounds of mountains, forests, the sea, and the vast sky. It is no coincidence that UNESCO recognized Ha Long Bay as one of the world's cultural heritage sites, contributing to the diverse natural and cultural landscape of Vietnam.
Come camping on a deserted island in the heart of Ha Long Bay, admire the majestic beauty of the place firsthand and breathe in the fresh sea air. In addition, visitors can paddleboard, squid fishing, experience digging for clams and oysters under the white sand, admire the natural masterpiece of Ha Long Bay, and immerse themselves in the turquoise waters of the bay...

3. Ham Lon Lake, Soc Son, Hanoi
Just 40 km from Hanoi, about an hour's motorbike ride away, you can "escape" the city and reconnect with nature. Lake Nui Bau, also known as Ham Lon Lake, is a large lake located at the foot of the mountain. Its emerald green surface, with its gentle ripples reflecting the pine forest, makes it an ideal spot for overnight camping.
Amidst the cool and fresh air, you'll enjoy moments of ultimate relaxation, dispelling all worries. With ample space, you can even organize a small barbecue by the lake, gathering with friends around the campfire to sing and enjoy delicious food. On the Ham Lon Lake camping tour, visitors can experience swimming in the lake, paddleboarding (SUP), trekking to explore the pine forest and streams...
Suoi Bau Lake is a large and beautiful lake, offering a spacious and fresh environment, making it ideal for camping and overnight stays.
4. Mo Ma, Lang Son
At Mo Ma, crystal-clear, gentle streams meander beneath the steep, rocky mountain slopes of Yen Thinh commune, Huu Lung district, Lang Son province, creating a picturesque and majestic landscape. The area is surrounded by limestone mountains, turquoise waters, and lush green meadows. Visitors should also try the local specialties of Lang Son's roasted pork and roasted duck.

What does the camping tour include?
According to Duc Hoan, when participating in a camping tour, tourists will be fully equipped with: tents, camping tables and chairs, lights, BBQ grills, food, sleeping mats... and other necessary items. The best time to participate in camping tours is usually in the autumn because the weather is cool and there is less rain.

Regarding costs, tour prices range from 700,000 to 1,000,000 VND per person for 2 days and 1 night, depending on the location. In addition to the items provided by the tour company, Duc Hoan suggests that travelers bring personal items such as face towels, toothpaste, bath towels, mosquito repellent, sunscreen (in a light jacket), and comfortable sandals or sneakers.
"I've noticed that camping is quite popular in Vietnam these days, and it's a great way to connect people with nature. When you go camping, you'll develop a love for nature and cultivate environmental awareness at each stop," Duc Hoan said.
