08/03/2017

Fired and out of service, 6 cruise ships are not allowed to build new ones and operate in Ha Long Bay.

The decision was made by the People's Committee of Ha Long City after reviewing all ships operating in Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long. The ships that have been terminated include White Dolphin QN - 4894, Sun Rise QN - 2287, Hung Long QN - 1156, Hoa Phuong 02 QN - 4239, Aphrodite 11 QN - 6299, Quang Nam 06 QN - 1694.

These are ships that have expired or burned between 2014 and 2016. Owners of these ships are not allowed to build new ships to replace the sunken or burned ships under the name and license plate of the old ships.

In February, Ha Long also stopped all operations of 5 tourist boats in the bay. Quang Ninh leaders said that wooden boats have a very high risk of fire, the main cause of fires on boats is electrical short circuits. In addition, old boats that have been in operation for many years, converted boats, etc. always pose many potential dangers, affecting human life and the tourism image of Ha Long Bay.
