The 2024 International Dance Festival brings together nearly 500 artists and actors from 17 art troupes representing 9 countries, taking place from August 17 to August 22 at the Cultural - Cinema Center of Thua Thien Hue province.
The festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism every three years, including professional dance performing units, representing Vietnam and the world. Participating works include genres such as: short dance, dance poetry, dance suite, short dance drama and dance drama. Participating dance performances are diverse in style from folk, classical, modern... with different dance forms such as solo, duo, trio, group dance...
The 2024 International Dance Festival will take place in Hue.
The participating works must have high artistic quality, expressing the content, ideas and artistic images through elements such as: structure of the work, structure of dance language, music processing, character image building, space and time processing techniques, props, acting techniques for actors. The content elements and artistic images of the work must be consistent with the cultural traditions of each region, ethnicity, country and appropriate to Vietnamese culture.
This year's festival promises to bring the audience works of art of the highest quality.
In addition, the Organizing Committee hopes to have new compositions imbued with the cultural identity of ethnic groups and nations, truly and deeply reflecting social life and people; works that explore and create forms of expression, and combine with other art forms to enrich the form of expression for dance works.

The 2024 International Dance Festival is attracting public attention to the art of Dance, creating new vitality and motivation to build and develop the Vietnamese cultural industry. This is also an opportunity to promote the value of Vietnamese dance art to international friends, an opportunity for Vietnamese dance artists to exchange, learn, discuss and share experiences during the performance process.
The dance festival aims to promote cooperation, exchange and experience sharing in dance art between Vietnam and other countries.
Regarding awards, the Organizing Committee will award Gold and Silver Medals to performances with high artistic quality according to the evaluation results of the Art Council. The number of awards of the festival will not exceed 35% of the total number of participating performances. This is truly a great opportunity for countries and cultures to interact, share and enjoy together the value of dance art.
