The 2024 International Dance Festival, bringing together nearly 500 artists and performers from 17 art troupes representing 9 countries, will take place from August 17th to August 22nd at the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Cultural and Film Center.
The festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism every three years, features professional and representative dance performance groups from Vietnam and around the world. Participating works include genres such as short dances, dance poems, dance suites, short dance dramas, and dance dramas. The dance performances showcase diverse styles ranging from folk, classical, and modern, with various dance forms such as solo, duo, trio, and group dances.
The 2024 International Dance Festival will be held in Hue.
The participating works are of high artistic quality, expressing content, ideas, and artistic imagery through elements such as: work structure, dance language structure, musical treatment, character portrayal, techniques for handling space and time, props, and acting techniques for the performers. The content and artistic imagery of the works must be consistent with the cultural traditions of each region, ethnic group, and nation, and appropriate to Vietnamese culture.
This year's festival promises to bring audiences works of art of the highest quality.
In addition, the Organizing Committee hopes to receive new creative works that are rich in the cultural identity of various ethnic groups and nations, reflecting authentically and profoundly the social life and people; works that demonstrate exploration and creativity in form of expression, and the combination with other art forms to enrich the expressive possibilities of dance works.
BTC encourages new creative works that showcase the rich cultural identity of various ethnic groups and nations.
The 2024 International Dance Festival is attracting public attention to the art of dance, creating new vitality and momentum for building and developing Vietnam's cultural industry. It is also an opportunity to promote the artistic value of Vietnamese dance to international friends, and a chance for Vietnamese dancers to interact, learn, exchange, and share experiences in their performances.
