The Anam shares the difficulties faced by two low-lying villages in Quang Tri.
Witnessing the hardships endured by people in Central Vietnam in 2020, from the Covid-19 pandemic to recent natural disasters and floods, The Anam Cam Ranh resort donated small gifts hoping to contribute a little moral support to help the people of Central Vietnam stay strong and overcome the flood season. Over 145 gift packages were delivered directly to residents of Tien Lai and Tien Trao villages, Vinh Lam Commune, Vinh Linh District, Quang Tri Province. Each package included rice, fish sauce, cooking oil, canned meat, canned fish, seasoning powder, and life jackets, valued at over 500,000 VND, funded by donations from the staff and investors of The Anam Resort Cam Ranh. “We couldn’t just sit there and watch the news about the natural disasters happening in central China. We felt we had to do something to help the people in the flood-ravaged areas. We truly hope that the essential items we are donating will be of some help to the families as they try to rebuild their lives,” said Ye “Peter” Chang Sheng, Deputy General Manager of The Anam Resort.

Laguna Lăng Cô harvests rice and donates it to local residents.
Laguna Lăng Cô has donated a large portion of its rice harvest from the recent summer-autumn crop to people in Central Vietnam who have faced significant hardship since the Covid-19 pandemic. With 7 hectares of rice paddies within the golf course, Laguna Lăng Cô enjoyed a bountiful harvest thanks to the significant contribution of the water buffalo family – “father Tú Phát, mother Chi Chi, calf Bảo, calf Luna, and the newest member, calf Lulu” – who have become known to the world media as “green guardians” on the golf course designed by legend Nick Faldo. The 28 tons of rice harvested this year will be used to support the organic farm at Laguna Lăng Cô, donating to families and elderly people in the area who are in need. Adam Calver, Golf Director at Laguna Lăng Cô, stated: “The local community, already impoverished, has been severely impacted by the economic downturn caused by the global pandemic. We hope to harvest even more rice to help the local people.”
