Phan Thanh Dat, 24 years old, was born in Tien Giang but currently lives and works in Ho Chi Minh City. He enjoys traveling, photography, and is passionate about exploring the natural beauty and culture of Vietnam.
These photos were taken by Thanh Dat during the recent New Year's holiday in Tien Giang.

These photos of the flower fields in the Mekong Delta were taken by Thanh Dat during the recent New Year's holiday when he visited his hometown. The flower fields are located next to National Highway 50, in Thanh Tri commune, Go Cong Tay district, Tien Giang province. From Ho Chi Minh City, you can reach them by following National Highway 50.
When visiting the Mekong Delta during the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), don't just wander around the floating markets; also visit the flower villages to explore and take photos.
"Currently, from the 10th to the 20th of the 12th lunar month is the peak season for Tet flower cultivation here. Gardeners are actively tending to their plants, and the flowers are beginning to bloom and are being prepared for shipment to provinces and Ho Chi Minh City from the 20th to the 23rd of the lunar month," Thanh Dat shared.
The flowers here are carefully tended by diligent farmers to bloom just in time for Tet (Lunar New Year), then transported to Saigon and throughout the southern provinces to meet the demand for flowers during the Tet holiday. This is also a time when many people from far and wide come to buy flowers and sightsee.
Every Lunar New Year, the famous flower villages in the Mekong Delta burst into vibrant colors, showcasing their beauty and fragrance.
The gardeners here mainly grow cockscomb, chrysanthemum, yellow chrysanthemum, and marigold. The flowers here are mostly sold wholesale to traders who transport them to neighboring provinces, especially Ho Chi Minh City, while the rest are sold to local people.
The gardeners here mainly grow chrysanthemums: raspberries, yellow chrysanthemums, marigolds.
Thanh Dat also said: "The flower field in Tien Giang province where I took the photos is not well-known to tourists from other places. It's mainly visited by young people and locals who come to check in. Usually, around the 20th to 25th of Tet (Lunar New Year), people come here to visit and choose beautiful potted plants, and also to take photos and preserve memories."

Spring is also the most vibrant and bustling season of the year in the flower village; the photo shows villagers diligently tending to their flowers.
The Mekong Delta is known as the capital of flowers, and besides this flower village, Thanh Dat also suggests several other locations in the Mekong Delta.
Tien Giang is also known for My Phong flower village (My Tho City). Along with that, there are two other famous flower villages: Sa Dec flower village (Dong Thap) and Cai Mon flower village (Ben Tre). During the twelfth lunar month, tourists from all over often visit these flower villages to sightsee and take photos.
