Over the years, in the spirit of the common understanding reached between the high-level leaders of the two Parties and States on "building a community of shared future with strategic significance between Vietnam and China," the friendly exchanges and comprehensive cooperation between Cao Bang province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have been continuously strengthened and promoted. Cooperation has become increasingly in-depth, practical, and effective in many fields.
After a long process of collaborative efforts and meticulous preparation, a significant event recently took place, marking a new step forward in the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and China.
Simultaneously, after coordinating and completing bilateral procedures and achieving high consensus among the relevant parties; with the approval of the Governments of Vietnam and China, the central ministries and agencies of both countries; and with the cooperative efforts of the governments of the two provinces/regions: Cao Bang and Guangxi, relevant departments and agencies, and the two districts of Ha Lang and Dai Tan, both sides have now completed internal procedures to officially open the Ly Van (Vietnam) - Thac Long (China) bilateral border gate.
In the near future, once all the necessary conditions are met, the Ly Van - Thac Long border gate is expected to be upgraded to an international border gate. In Cao Bang province, with over 300 km of border shared with China, Cao Bang has two international border gates: Ta Lung (Quang Hoa district) and Tra Linh (Trung Khanh district).
The opening of the Ly Van (Vietnam) - Thac Long (China) bilateral border gate opens up new opportunities for strengthening socio-economic exchanges.
In the initial phase, the border crossing will focus on facilitating the entry and exit of tourists and citizens of both countries. This means that people wishing to visit relatives, engage in cultural exchange, or travel between the two countries will benefit from shorter travel times and simplified procedures.
The official opening of the Ly Van (Vietnam) and Thac Long (China) bilateral border gate is not just a simple event, but also carries profound strategic significance, strongly addressing the urgent development aspirations and needs of both localities. This event has become a new highlight, a testament to the close and effective cooperation in strengthening socio-economic exchanges between Cao Bang and Guangxi provinces in general, and especially between Ha Lang and Dai Tan districts in particular.
This also presents an opportunity to strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Ly Van - Thac Long border gate is not just a simple trading point, but also an important bridge, facilitating the close and synchronized connection of infrastructure planning between the two sides. Investing in infrastructure, including roads, warehousing systems, and other supporting facilities, will optimize the flow of goods and people, while creating a favorable environment for economic activities.
Furthermore, opening border gates also contributes to improving the quality of attracting investment from domestic and foreign businesses. Investors will see great potential from convenient trade through border gates, thereby promoting the development of industries, services, and tourism in the region.
Cao Bang hopes that border gate economy will develop further and contribute more revenue from import-export activities as well as tourism to the province.
To maximize the potential of the border crossing, both sides also need to jointly research and develop appropriate policy mechanisms. Creating a transparent, open, and favorable legal environment will help attract economic activities while ensuring the sustainable development of the border region.
Cao Bang is a region famous for its picturesque landscapes and numerous scenic spots, with nearly 100 cultural and natural heritage sites.
With over 300 km of border shared with neighboring China, this province has two international border gates: Ta Lung (Quang Hoa district) and Tra Linh (Trung Khanh district). The Ly Van border gate opens up many opportunities for trade and tourism for the people on both sides.
