Chu Mu calls the adventurers

As a travel enthusiast who loves challenging trekking trips, Huynh Vuong Anh Tuc (29 years old, gym trainer in Nha Trang), the more difficult the route, the more attractive it becomes. And Chu Mu with the title of "the most majestic pass in the South" is definitely a challenge not to be missed.

Last May, Anh Tuc had her first trip to Chu Mu - a route that is still quite wild and little known. Just a few months later, she decided to return, this time with a clearer goal: to place her own peak on the top of Chu Mu. For trekking lovers like her, the peak is a symbol of conquest, an indelible mark of the trips.

For Huynh Vuong Anh Tuc (29 years old, gym trainer in Nha Trang), the more difficult the route, the more attractive it becomes.

Green paradise in the middle of the jungle

When conquering Chu Mu peak, Anh Tuc admired Vong Phu peak located in Ea M'Doal commune, M'Drak district, Dak Lak province. From afar, Vong Phu peak looks like the image of a mother and son turned to stone waiting for their husband to return. Chu Mu peak is over 2,000 m high, near the border between Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak. The journey to conquer Chu Mu peak with its wild and majestic scenery brings an unforgettable experience when admiring Vong Phu peak about 2,140 m high in the middle of the vast Central Highlands nature.

The trekking route to Chu Mu is very diverse. Anh Tuc was able to admire the lush green primeval forests, winding streams and moss-covered rocks. Standing on the top of Chu Mu, she could see the sea of clouds floating below her feet, embracing the vast primeval forest. The remaining ancient trees in the poetic forest made her feel overwhelmed and excited.

Chư Mư với danh hiệu “đệ nhất hùng quan miền Nam” chắc chắn là một thử thách không thể bỏ qua.

Chu Mu with the title "the most majestic pass in the South" is certainly a challenge not to be missed.

The challenging journey of trekking to conquer Chu Mu requires physical strength and bravery to reach an altitude of about 2,000 m. However, when seeing the majestic Vong Phu peak from afar, the pride and happiness make all the efforts worthwhile.

“Mountain climbing is a sport that requires health, endurance and high will. A new mountain route with a higher level of difficulty than the ones I have been to before requires all factors such as health and will to be trained more rigorously. The first time sleeping in a hammock in the middle of a rainforest, the first time climbing a 5km high slope continuously, exhausted to the point of fainting, the first time crawling through rocks, climbing up a steep cliff… all of these make dopamine extremely high”, Anh Tuc recalls.

3 days 2 nights facing nature

On the first day, Anh Tuc departed from Ninh Hoa, stopping at Duc My market to enjoy a breakfast full of hometown flavors. After that, she continued her journey to M'Drak to meet the group. At the edge of the forest, the group divided their belongings and "lightness" was the top priority. On other tourist routes, you can be a little "stylish", but in Chu Mu forest, just being able to drag your body is already wonderful.

Steep, slippery slope, plus fallen trees blocking the road

The first 500 meters were a gift with a flat and quite pleasant road. However, immediately after that, Anh Tuc faced the "slope of despair" that was as steep as a giant stone wall blocking her way. At that time, she just wanted to "keep walking" because looking up, she could only see the lush green of the forest. The steep, slippery slope, combined with the fallen tree trunks blocking the road, forced her to crawl little by little.

The next stretch required Anh Tuc to hold on to the tree trunk with his hands, and on one side was a deep abyss. It felt like he was walking on a thin path, where even the slightest mistake could lead to unforeseen consequences.

After overcoming the challenging road, Anh Tuc started downhill again. The slope was very slippery, she had to keep walking. By the time she reached the hut, it was already dark. Her brothers once again proved their strength by helping the sisters carry their things and set up the tent. After a long day of exercise, she just wanted to soak in the cold stream to relax. The stream water was so cold that it numbed her skin but it felt so refreshing.

At night, the group hung hammocks and enjoyed the fresh air of the mountains and forests. However, the nights in the forest were quite cold, so she had to crawl into a sleeping bag to keep warm. The feeling of lying in a hammock in the middle of the forest, listening to the chirping of insects was wonderful.

The road is still full of challenges

A moment to stop and rest

On the second day, the group woke up early to prepare for the final leg of the journey. After a light breakfast, the group began their journey to conquer the peak of Hon Vong Phu. The road was still full of challenges with steep slopes and slippery rocks. After conquering the mountain peak, Anh Tuc returned to the hut to rest and have lunch. However, because she was quite tired, the group decided to stay at the hut one more night to ensure everyone's safety.

After showering and having dinner, everyone went to bed early to prepare for a good night's sleep. However, a sudden downpour broke the group's sleep. At first it was just a light drizzle, but then the rain became more and more intense. The tent's canvas was torn apart by the wind, and rainwater poured in. The tour guides struggled to keep the tent from collapsing. Anh Tuc tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep because of anxiety. Luckily, thanks to the old tree blocking the way, her tent was still intact. When everyone woke up the next morning, they felt relieved and grateful for being safe and sound.

A memorable 3-day, 2-night trip to Chu Mu

In addition, when Anh Tuc lay down to sleep at night, she felt a cool breeze blowing across her face. When she woke up, she touched her forehead and saw a streak of bright red blood from a leech bite. The blood flowed continuously, soaking her hair. The scene looked quite scary, but she still calmly treated the wound.

On the third day, the group woke up early and prepared their luggage to return home. Everyone in the group felt a little regretful about leaving the mountains and forests. At the end of the memorable 3-day, 2-night trip to Chu Mu, although tired, everyone felt extremely happy because they had memorable experiences with good friends.
