In addition, there have been many other bilateral visits between France and Vietnam at the ministerial, parliamentary, and local levels, emphasizing the richness of the relationship between the two countries: In 2016 alone, the President of the French National Assembly, Mr. Claude Bartolone, and the French Minister of Defense, Mr. Jean-Yves le Drian, had the opportunity to visit Vietnam. In December 2015, former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung was also present in Paris to attend the COP 21 climate conference, and the French government was also very grateful for Vietnam's commitment on this occasion.

The state visit of President François Hollande is an opportunity to further strengthen the bilateral relationship within the framework of the strategic partnership signed in September 2013. There will be new agreements signed and meetings between business leaders, and cooperation between the two countries will continue to develop.
