Heavy rains submerged a trail in Brazil

26/02/2018

In January and February, Brazil experienced torrential rains that caused flooding in many places. At Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata, near the southwestern town of Bonito, a sudden downpour left the forest submerged.

Waldemilson Vera dived into the water that was once a primeval forest to capture the colorful underwater forest. Roads, bridges, and creatures came alive in the water. Unlike other flooded areas, the water here was crystal clear, with the light reflecting off it, creating a magical scene.

The video has so far garnered nearly 2 million views since it was uploaded to YouTube on February 19. Many have been left speechless by the surreal nature of the scene.

Indeed, Soulfully commented on the video: “Everything is so beautiful and magical when suspended in water. It looks like a completely different world.”

And Tofu Platter added: “This is probably one of the most exciting scenes I've ever seen.”

A caption was added below the video, stating that the flooding did not last long. About three days later the forest returned to its familiar appearance.
