On the morning of July 26th, authorities announced the second case of Covid-19 in Da Nang city. Immediately, the Da Nang City People's Committee decided to temporarily suspend festivals, religious ceremonies, sports tournaments, events with large gatherings in public places, stadiums, and other non-essential large-scale events; and to temporarily suspend the operation of non-essential service businesses such as amusement parks, entertainment venues, beauty salons, karaoke parlors, massage parlors, bars, and nightclubs.
Commercial and service establishments, sports training areas, historical sites, and scenic spots are allowed to continue operating but must implement safety measures to prevent and control the epidemic, such as providing protective equipment for staff, checking the body temperature of visitors; providing adequate facilities and supplies for hand washing and disinfection at the premises, and ensuring social distancing during interactions.
Inter-provincial and intra-provincial public passenger transport services are allowed to continue operating, but must implement safety measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic in accordance with the regulations of the relevant authorities.
Patients suspected of having Covid-19 have been transferred to Da Nang Hospital for treatment and monitoring.
At the same time, in Da Nang, people regularly wash their hands with soap or disinfectant solution; wear masks when going out; maintain a safe distance when interacting; do not gather more than 30 people in public places, outside of offices, schools, and hospitals; and maintain a minimum distance of 1 meter when interacting.
The period for implementing social distancing measures in Da Nang is from 13:00 on July 26, 2020, until further notice.
Furthermore, the Da Nang City People's Committee has instructed the Department of Health to urgently organize epidemiological investigations, investigate and trace all areas and cases related to COVID-19 patients to apply containment and isolation measures; urgently develop a plan to closely monitor and track cases with symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, etc., in the community; conduct widespread testing using appropriate methods to identify the source of infection, ensuring no high-risk cases are missed; and detect cases early to implement appropriate medical interventions.
The Da Nang City Police Department has been tasked with conducting a comprehensive review, inspection, detection, and handling of cases of illegal entry.
Specifically, the Department of Tourism is working with tourism service businesses, travel companies, accommodation establishments, tourist attractions, boats, tourist transport vehicles, and other tourism service providers to temporarily suspend receiving tourists in Da Nang for 14 days starting from July 26, 2020, to ensure the safety of tourists and the community until further notice. For accommodation establishments, during the aforementioned suspension period, if there are any special circumstances, they are required to report to the Department of Tourism and the People's Committees of the districts and communes to seek approval from the competent authorities.
The People's Committee of the city assigns relevant departments, agencies, and localities to coordinate with the Department of Health and the City Police to monitor the implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures in their respective areas of management, promptly detect, correct, and strictly handle violations related to epidemic prevention and control in accordance with the law.
