Vietnam has suspended international flights for the past three months due to concerns about the spread of the disease through tourists entering the country. This is a common situation in countries around the world. Currently, the disease has been somewhat controlled, Vietnam is planning to resume flights to facilitate economic recovery.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang said that based on the situation and needs of both sides, Vietnam is discussing with a number of countries such as China, South Korea, and Japan, on the basis of ensuring compliance with epidemic prevention measures under specific conditions, not allowing the spread of the disease. "The immediate goal is to create favorable conditions for experts and managers from these countries to return to Vietnam to work and for Vietnamese interns and workers to go to the above-mentioned countries to work," Ms. Hang emphasized.
The meeting of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 epidemic prevention took place yesterday.
If the situation is more stable, Vietnam can plan to welcome delegations from other countries to visit in the near future. Japan, South Korea and China are 3 of Vietnam's economic and tourism partners. These are also countries with many Vietnamese workers. The close economic relationship is one of the bases for considering reopening flights.
In early June, the Japanese government also announced that it would ease travel restrictions with Vietnam - one of the countries with the best disease control in the world. The first flight of this reconnection is a 250-seat charter flight for business travel purposes.

In addition to the three markets of China, Korea and Japan, Vietnam is also considering resuming commercial flights to a number of countries and territories that have basically controlled the epidemic and have extensive and multifaceted relations with Vietnam.
Currently, Asia is at risk of a second wave of the epidemic after a new outbreak was detected in Beijing and tensions in Indonesia and the Philippines in recent days. Vietnam is also gradually conducting flights to bring Vietnamese citizens home, preparing to fight the epidemic if the situation worsens.
