Due to the increasingly serious developments of the Covid-19 pandemic and the policies of restricting entry and closing borders between countries, Vietnam Airlines, the national airline, has announced the temporary suspension of all international flights in its network, expected to last until April 30, 2020.
- Flights between Southeast Asian destinations including Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar will be suspended from March 21st.
- Flights between the UK and Japan will be suspended in both directions from March 23rd.
- Flights from Vietnam to Germany and Australia will be suspended from March 24th, and flights returning to Vietnam from March 25th.
Previously, Vietnam Airlines had also temporarily suspended flights between Vietnam and China, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, France, Russia, Malaysia, and Taiwan.
Therefore, passengers planning international flights during this period should proactively monitor flight schedules on the Vietnam Airlines website or app to make appropriate arrangements for their journey. Vietnam Airlines also stated that it will widely inform passengers about the resumption of these routes after receiving new decisions from the authorities.
To support affected passengers, Vietnam Airlines will waive fees and conditions for changing flight dates and itineraries on tickets for all international passengers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic who purchased tickets before March 25, 2020.
