Vietnam resumes flights to destinations with 30 days of no new infections.

The Prime Minister instructed the Steering Committee to announce safe zones to reopen international flights to areas where no Covid-19 cases have been detected in the past 30 days.

Important decisions regarding reopening during this period were made by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at a meeting of the Government's Standing Committee on COVID-19 prevention and control on the morning of June 9th.

In line with the Politburo's directive prioritizing domestic socio-economic development, the Prime Minister requested preparations to be made for the near future to open up and integrate, continuing to build Vietnam as a safe destination for the world.

Accordingly, regarding the reopening of international commercial flights, the Prime Minister instructed the Steering Committee to announce safe zones to reopen air routes to areas where no cases of Covid-19 have been detected in the past 30 days.

"We cannot completely close our borders, but we cannot open them indiscriminately when we cannot determine the safety levels of other countries," the Prime Minister noted.

Furthermore, for Vietnamese businesspeople, students, and the elderly who wish to return home but are unable to do so, the Prime Minister has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to establish specific criteria and open registration channels for citizens, including Vietnamese and foreign experts.

The Ministry of Transport has directed the aviation industry to organize flights to bring these individuals back to the country in a humane and convenient manner. The Prime Minister requested that there be no restrictions on the number of flights carrying experts, businesspeople, students, elderly people, etc., who meet the criteria for returning home and for business purposes.
