Important decisions related to reopening during this period were made by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the meeting of the Government Standing Committee on Covid-19 prevention and control on the morning of June 9.
Thoroughly implementing the Politburo's directive on domestic socio-economic development as the main focus, the Prime Minister requested to prepare conditions for the near future to open up for integration, continuing to build Vietnam as a safe destination in the world.
Accordingly, regarding the opening of international commercial flights, the Prime Minister assigned the Steering Committee to announce safe zones to reopen flights to areas where no Covid-19 cases have been detected in the past 30 days.
"It is impossible to completely close but we cannot open up too quickly when we cannot determine the safety level of countries," the Prime Minister noted.
Not only that, for Vietnamese businessmen, students, the elderly, etc. who need to return home but cannot, the Prime Minister also requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to set out specific criteria and open a registration channel for people, including Vietnamese and foreign experts.
The Ministry of Transport has directed the aviation industry to organize flights to bring these people back to the country in a humanitarian spirit and to create favorable conditions. The Prime Minister requested that the number of flights carrying experts, businessmen, students, pupils, the elderly, etc., according to the prescribed criteria, to return home and to do business will not be limited.
