Tourists from Asian countries will be exempt from visa processing fees for entry into Taiwan for 7 days if they register in groups of 5 or more.

Tony Wu, Director of the Taiwan (China) Tourism Office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, said that tourists from Asian countries will be exempt from visa application fees for entry into Taiwan for 7 days if they register in groups of 5 or more people.

The fee for a Taiwan visa is US$50 for processing within 5 working days and US$75 for processing within 2 working days. Additionally, citizens of five countries – Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, India, and the Philippines – holding valid visas from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as Schengen visas (including residence permits), are exempt from visa requirements for entry into Taiwan. However, travelers must register online for pre-approval before boarding and entering the country.

Citizens of five countries—Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, India, and the Philippines—are also exempt from submitting proof of financial means and proof of employment if they register for tours with designated travel companies or group tours organized for businesses.

According to Mr. Wu, tourists visiting Taiwan also have the opportunity to receive subway tickets, park entrance tickets, or hot spring tickets, depending on the time of year.
