As part of the activities of the Vietnam International Tourism Fair (VITM 2017), a Taiwan tourism promotion program in Vietnam, themed “Time for Taiwan,” took place in Hanoi on the afternoon of April 8, 2017. The event was organized by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau in collaboration with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam.

Attending the event were Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism; Mr. Tony Wu, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau Office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Mr. Hoang Doan Trung, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Hoang Doan Trung stated that with many preferential policies such as conditional visa exemption and simplified visa application procedures for tour groups from 5 countries, including Vietnam, it has made it easier and more convenient for Vietnamese tourists to travel to Taiwan. These favorable conditions also contribute to opening up many opportunities for cooperation between travel agencies in Vietnam and Taiwan.

Hoping to attract the attention of Vietnamese tourists, the program introduced information on various types of tourism, including cultural tourism, shopping tourism, culinary tourism, ecotourism, and useful tips for traveling to Taiwan for the delegates, especially young people who love and plan to explore Taiwan in the near future.
