The cast may seem unfamiliar, but they're certainly very familiar from BEN-HUR.

Jack Huston

Before appearing in BEN-HUR, Jack Huston was famous for his role as the gangster Richard Harrow in the hit HBO television series Boardwalk Empire (2010). However, few people know that he also appeared in the popular film adaptation of the young adult fantasy novel Twilight. In Twilight, specifically in the film Eslipe (2010), Jack Huston played Roy King II, the husband of the vampire Rosalie Hale when she was still human. He and his friends raped Rosalie and left her to die. Later, when she became a vampire, the first person Rosalie wanted to kill was Roy King II.

In 2013, Jack Huston appeared in the musical comedy film American Hustle. American Hustle received numerous Golden Globe and Oscar nominations that year. In the film, Jack Huston played Pete Musane, the lover of Rosalyn Rosenfeld (played by Jennifer Lawrence).

In 2015, Jack Huston had a golden opportunity when he portrayed Ira, a vibrant yet gentle woman, alongside his wife of contrasting personalities in the romantic film The Longest Ride (2015). This couple was so captivating that they overshadowed even the lead actors, Scott Eastwood and Britt Robertson.

Earlier this year, Jack Huston returned to the big screen as the rogue officer George Wickham in Pride and Prejudice and Zombie, which premiered on Valentine's Day.

This summer, he appeared in the hit movie BEN-HUR. With experience honed through various roles and diverse personalities, Jack has the confidence and ability to play the lead role of Judah Ben-Hur in this film.

Nazanin Boniadi

Playing the lead role of Esther and alongside the hero Ben-Hur is the beautiful actress with the sweet name Nazanin Boniadi. For viewers who were captivated by the television series How I Met Your Mother, it's easy to recognize Nazanin Boniadi as Nora – Barney Stingson's "cover" before he realized the woman he loved was Robin.

The actress has also appeared in several other television series, most notably Homeland in season 3 as CGI analyst Fara Sherazi. This character was quite popular and appeared in season 4.

Surprisingly, Nazanin Boniadi previously appeared in Iron Man (2008). She played a female reporter covering the battle between Iron Man and the Ten Rings.

Esther from Ben-Hur is a fascinating character. Not the typical bland, eye-catching female lead, Esther is compassionate yet strong and resilient. She offers Ben-Hur warmth and tenderness, but also a firm stance when he is blinded by revenge.

Ayelet Zurer

Playing Naomi Ben-Hur, Judah Ben-Hur's mother, is actress Ayelet Zurer. She previously played the mother of another famous character: Superman in Man of Steel (2013).

Ayelet Zurer previously collaborated with actor Tom Hanks in the blockbuster Angle and Demon (2009), adapted from the novel of the same name by author Dan Brown. She played the talented and seductive Dr. Vittoria Vetra. In the film, Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) and Vittoria Vetra (Ayelet Zurer) must race against time to stop the Killer from executing four cardinals and prevent the Illuminati from stealing and detonating an antimatter bomb.

Sofia Black-D'Elia

Sofia Black-D'Elia plays Tirzah Ben-Hur, the sister of Judah Ben-Hur.

She is a promising new talent in Hollywood. She is currently attracting considerable attention from filmmakers. Sofia Black-D'Elia appeared in season 6 of Gossip Girl as Natasha "Sage" Spence, an intelligent and captivating young woman.

Besides BEN-HUR, in 2016, Sofia Black-D'Elia also appeared in the horror film Viral, playing Emma Drakeford, a younger sister who flees with her older sister from zombies caused by an outbreak of a virus that parasitizes the human brain. However, her sister unexpectedly becomes infected, causing Emma to panic.

Rodrigo Santoro

In the 1959 film, the character of Jesus was not shown, but in the 2016 version, he was. This role was played by actor Rodrigo Santoro. Rodrigo Santoro has a rather extensive acting portfolio. In 2003, he played the sweet and lovable Karl in the hit romantic film Love Actually.

In 2006, he stunned all his fans by becoming the God King Xerxes in the epic blockbuster 300. Cruel, powerful, and monstrous are the qualities that audiences will forever remember about this villain.

After diligently appearing in various films in his native Brazil, he returned to Hollywood in 2015 with the film Focus alongside Will Smith and Margot Robbie.

The weariness and experience of life are clearly visible on Rodrigo Santoro's face as he plays Jesus in Ben-Hur.

Toby Kebbell is a very familiar face to movie fans; this actor has a knack for blockbuster films, especially those with roles that utilize CGI technology. Some examples include:

In BEN-HUR, Toby Kebbell plays the villain Messala. Messala, originally Ben-Hur's childhood friend and foster brother, later becomes a Roman officer and betrays him. Ben-Hur and Messala's chariot race is one of the sequences that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats, listening intently and holding their breath.

Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman is undoubtedly the brightest name in this cast. Despite rising to fame relatively late (at age 50), Morgan Freeman quickly became a "treasure" of the silver screen. He is the second African American artist (after Sidney Poitier in 1992) to receive the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award.

With his enigmatic face and dignified demeanor, Morgan Freeman was twice offered the role of Almighty God (Bruce Almighty, Evan Almighty). He was also the first Black God on screen.

Tired of playing God, Morgan Freeman transitioned to being Lucius Fox's advisor to Christian Bale's Batman in Christopher Nolan's three Batman films. He also played the powerful vice president in London Has Fallen and, despite being a villain, turned out to be a hero in the two Now You See Me films.

At the age of 79, the actor is still actively appearing in various film projects. In the blockbuster BEN-HUR, Morgan Freeman will play the nobleman Ilderim, who trains Ben-Hur to become a skilled coachman in order to take revenge on Messala.

Ben-Hur is a mythological film about the titular character: Juda Ben-Hur. Originally a nobleman, Ben-Hur is betrayed and exiled for five years by his foster brother Messala. Fortunately rescued, Ben-Hur returns to take revenge on Messala in a fierce chariot race.

The film's script will not be based on the famous 1959 version, but will be a re-edited version of the literary work Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ by author and Colonel Lew Wallace. Therefore, there will be some changes in the film's structure. Maintaining the original spirit, building on the best aspects while also boldly innovating, BEN-HUR 2016 promises to continue the success of the original version, becoming one of the most worthwhile epic films to watch this year.
