To prepare for the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the railway industry will operate more than 55 trains daily from February 3rd, 2026 to March 8th, 2026, providing approximately 330,000 tickets. Group tickets will be sold from September 15th to 19th, and individual tickets will be widely available from 8:00 AM on September 20th. Passengers can purchase tickets through various online channels and at stations, and will also benefit from preferential discounts.

To meet the needs of millions of passengers returning home for family reunions and spring excursions, the railway industry will mobilize hundreds of trains and provide hundreds of thousands of tickets to ensure that all citizens can return home for Tet safely and conveniently from February 3rd, 2026 to March 8th, 2026 (i.e., from the 16th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake to the 20th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Horse). This is one of the largest transportation periods of the year, with a significant increase in scale and number of trains.

To meet the increased travel demand during the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Horse 2026, the railway industry will operate more than 55 trains per day, mobilizing over 800 carriages and providing approximately 330,000 train tickets for passengers.

On the vital North-South railway line, there will be 7 pairs of Thong Nhat trains running daily, including train numbers SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6, SE7/8, SE9/10, SE11/12, and SE23/24. In addition, to meet the increased travel demand, the railway sector has also arranged two additional pairs of trains, TN3/4 and TN5/6.

Not only are trains being focused on the main routes, but regional routes are also being strengthened. Every day, there will be 12 pairs of trains from Hanoi to provinces such as Vinh, Dong Hoi, Da Nang, Hue, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet… and many trains departing from Ho Chi Minh City. Especially during the Tet holiday, from the 29th of the 12th lunar month to the 3rd day of Tet, additional trains will be added to serve passengers traveling during the holiday, making it easier for people to move between tourist destinations and major cities.

Passengers can easily purchase tickets through various channels. Online ticketing channels include official websites such as dsvn.vn, vetau.com.vn, vetauonline.vn, and giare.vetau.vn. Tickets will also be sold at train stations, ticket sales points, and official agents nationwide. For added convenience, passengers can also purchase tickets via mobile applications, e-wallets, banks, ticketing apps on their phones, and the call centers of Saigon and Hanoi stations. Each customer is limited to a maximum of 10 tickets for the outbound journey and 10 tickets for the return journey to prevent ticket speculation.
