Now in its 4th year, the voting is conducted by readers of Women Today magazine nationwide, based on a list of nominees and under the strict management of Women Today - Dai Viet Global Joint Stock Company. The nominees are successful women in all fields of life, including health, beauty, education, community, and art.

First Runner-up Trinh Kim Chi presented the title of "Woman Actively Serving the Community" to the 2nd Runner-up of Miss Universe Vietnam 2017, Mau Thuy.
The candidates were nominated and voted on by readers of Women Today magazine through the monthly issue of Women Today. The voting program ran from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017, and concluded with an awards ceremony on February 4, 2018.
Following the success of its three previous editions, the Woman of the Year 2017 program continues to support successful women, aiming to inspire and motivate them to achieve success in life and contribute more to the community, for the overall development of society and gender equality.
