Travel businesses enthusiastically participated in the VITM 2017 international tourism fair.

With a series of side events such as seminars, discussions, networking, and customer appreciation events, after 4 days of operation, VITM Hanoi 2017 has truly become a festival for Vietnamese tourism businesses.

With 465 booths from 672 businesses, 3,000 business meetings, 61,000 visitors who came to view and purchase tourism products, and 20,070 domestic and international tours sold, VITM has become an impressive brand for Vietnamese tourism. This year's fair, themed "Hanoi – The Destination of Vietnamese Tourism in 2017," received strong support from businesses. Images and information about tourism in the capital city were prominently displayed throughout the fair.

Regarding the international market, VITM Hanoi 2017 selected the United States as its guest. A delegation led by Mr. Robert Duglin, Vice President of the American Travel Association, and 12 tourism businesses attended the fair and participated in two activities: meeting with Vietnamese travel businesses and signing a cooperation agreement with the Vietnam Travel Association. This was a highlight of VITM Hanoi 2017, attracting significant public attention. After the fair, the delegation conducted surveys in Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh, Hue, Hoi An, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Within the framework of the VITM Hanoi 2017 trade fair, 8 seminars and 7 press conferences were successfully organized, such as the seminar "Implementing Resolution 08-NQ/TW of the Politburo on developing tourism into a key economic sector," which was attended by hundreds of businesses, leaders of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, provincial tourism management departments, and leaders of the Central Economic Committee. This affirms that VITM Hanoi 2017 is an important tourism forum for the industry. At the seminars, businesses and media outlets discussed, proposed, and recommended many practical solutions to the State, aiming to truly elevate tourism to a key economic sector of the country. VITM Hanoi 2017 built its image with large and beautiful exhibition booths. Many booths, such as those of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, Vietravel, Saigontourist, Hanoitourist, etc., featured diverse architectural designs, strongly reflecting traditional culture. The international booths, such as those of South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Cambodia, etc., were also very beautiful and drew admiration from visitors.

A highlight of this year's fair is the international street food festival, showcasing street food from nine countries – South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Mexico, Italy, the USA, the Philippines, and Vietnam – to a wide audience.

At the closing ceremony of VITM Hanoi 2017, the Vietnam Tourism Association also honored the top 10 travel companies that brought tourists abroad in 2017. The Fair Organizing Committee awarded 20 prizes to impressive booths, including 14 Vietnamese booths and 6 international booths.

Over its five editions, VITM has increasingly established itself as a flagship event of Vietnamese tourism, attracting domestic and international tourism businesses. In particular, the fair contributes to promoting and showcasing the image of Vietnamese destinations, creating momentum to attract tourists this year and in the years to come.
