Unique horse racing festival at the Bac Ha White Plateau Festival.

This year, the Bac Ha White Plateau Festival is being held in Bac Ha district (Lao Cai province) and neighboring districts, featuring many unique traditional cultural and tourism events taking place in early June.

The Festival will feature three main events: the 15th Traditional Horse Racing Festival of Bac Ha District; the Tam Hoa Plum Festival; a cultural and artistic exchange at the Bac Ha Night Market; and a seminar to promote and attract investors to the tourism sector in Bac Ha.

The festival will kick off with the Bac Ha District Horse Racing Festival, taking place from 7:30 AM on June 5th at the stage in front of the Hoang A Tuong mansion in Bac Ha District. Following the qualifying rounds, the finals will be held on the morning of June 12th at the central stadium of Bac Ha District.

The Tam Hoa Plum Festival takes place over nine days, from June 4th to 12th, at the Bac Ha Vegetable and Fruit Research and Production Farm. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the farm, learn about the origins of the Tam Hoa plum, and sample products made from Bac Ha plums.

In addition, tourists can experience and explore various tourism activities and visit many destinations in the area such as: the national historical site of Bac Ha Temple, the provincial historical site of Bac Ha Fort, visit and experience Coc Ly market, explore the heritage cluster of over 1,000-year-old ironwood trees, experience Quang Nguyen hot springs, explore the ancient house of the Mong people, visit Suoi Thau grassland, Quang Nguyen hot springs; 2 OCOP cultural tourism villages, the historical site of Lung Than ancient citadel, the forest worship festival in Si Ma Cai (Lao Cai)...

Besides the main activities, the Festival also features many supporting activities such as: performances of folk art and traditional costumes of ethnic groups in Bac Ha district; a trade fair; camping and horse racing experiences; enjoying the art of tea making and brewing of the Tay ethnic people in Ban Lien commune…

With this year's Bac Ha White Plateau Festival in the summer, Bac Ha district expects to welcome approximately 60,000 tourists.
