Opening of Hanoi Craft Village Tourism and Cuisine Festival 2022
The 2022 Hanoi Craft Village Tourism and Cuisine Festival is organized by the Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion in coordination with relevant units, in response to the 31st SEA Games and takes place from May 19 to May 23, 2022.
The exhibition space of this year's festival is divided into two main areas: an area promoting traditional craft village products and an area introducing Hanoi's culinary culture.
Hanoi culinary culture space
Hanoi culinary culture space introduces typical dishes of Hanoi such as shrimp cakes, Thanh Tri rice rolls, Uoc Le sausage, vermicelli with grilled pork, Hanoi fried spring rolls, steamed chicken in lotus leaves, green rice cakes, Phu Nhi rice cakes, West Lake lotus tea, etc. At the festival, visitors can also interact with artisans and culinary experts to introduce Hanoi's culinary culture.
Space to promote traditional craft village products
Hanoi is the convergence of 47/52 traditional craft villages across the country. The craft village booth will help visitors understand more about Hanoi's traditional crafts such as Bat Trang pottery village, Xuan La figurines, Van Phuc silk village, Phu Vinh bamboo and rattan weaving, Son Dong fine art wood, Chuon Ngo mother-of-pearl inlay, Ha Thai lacquerware, Chuong conical hats, Thuy Ung horn combs...
The products displayed at the festival are selected to be beautiful, sophisticated designs made by the golden hands of artisans, the creativity of craftsmen from some typical craft villages, imbued with the culture of Vietnam and ancient Hanoi.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Anh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi City Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, said that the festival is an opportunity for the capital's tourism and service sector to promote its image and destinations, introduce culinary cultural values, and traditional craft village products to the people and domestic and foreign tourists attending the 31st SEA Games. Enhancing the position of cuisine and craft villages to become attractive tourism products, contributing to promoting the local economy, preserving and developing tangible and intangible cultural heritages and unique structural systems in traditional craft villages.
At the festival, there will also be many attractive activities such as: introducing the production stages of some craft village products, an area for visitors to experience and practice some production stages of craft village products; ao dai fashion show from Van Phuc silk products and jewelry made from horns, mother-of-pearl inlays, etc.; photo exhibition of Hanoi craft villages.
The organizers also arranged a game area with folk games for the whole family and children such as tug of war, stilt walking, swinging, hopscotch, jumping rope, blindfolded goat catching, bamboo bridge crossing, etc.; combined with E-Sports games with the competition at the SEA Games for visitors to experience.
The 2022 Hanoi Craft Village Tourism and Cuisine Festival aims to promote the image of Hanoi Capital - a safe, friendly, quality and attractive destination in general and the values of cuisine and craft villages in particular. In addition, this is also an opportunity for units, artisans, craft villages and cuisine of Hanoi and Vietnam to introduce to a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
