Hanoi is home to 47 out of 52 traditional craft villages nationwide. The craft village exhibition area will help visitors learn more about Hanoi's traditional crafts such as Bat Trang pottery village, Xuan La clay figurines, Van Phuc silk village, Phu Vinh rattan and bamboo weaving, Son Dong fine art wood carving, Chuon Ngo mother-of-pearl inlay, Ha Thai lacquerware, Chuong conical hats, and Thuy Ung horn combs...

The products displayed at the festival are carefully selected, featuring beautiful and exquisite designs crafted by skilled artisans and showcasing the creativity of craftsmen from several representative traditional craft villages, reflecting the rich culture of Vietnam and old Hanoi.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Anh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi City Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Center, said that the festival is an opportunity for the capital's tourism and service industry to promote its image and destinations, introduce cultural values, cuisine, and traditional craft products to the people and domestic and international tourists attending the SEA Games 31. It aims to enhance the status of cuisine and traditional crafts as attractive tourism products, contributing to boosting the local economy, preserving and developing tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and the unique structures of traditional craft villages.

The festival will also feature many attractive activities such as: showcasing the production process of some traditional craft products; an area for visitors to experience and practice some stages of craft product production; a fashion show featuring ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) made from Van Phuc silk and jewelry made from horn and mother-of-pearl; and an exhibition of photographs of Hanoi's traditional craft villages.
The organizers also set up a game area with traditional folk games for the whole family and children, including tug-of-war, stilt walking, swinging, hopscotch, jump rope, blindfolded tag, bamboo bridge walking, etc.; combined with E-Sports games related to the SEA Games for visitors to experience.

The Hanoi Culinary and Traditional Craft Village Tourism Festival 2022 aims to promote the image of Hanoi as a safe, friendly, high-quality, and attractive destination in general, and to showcase its culinary and traditional craft values in particular. Furthermore, it provides an opportunity for businesses, artisans, traditional craft villages, and culinary traditions of Hanoi and Vietnam to introduce themselves to a wide range of domestic and international tourists.
