Predicting the prominent interior design trends of 2015

25/02/2015

Following the movement of colors and art, some interesting and "rebellious" Home Decor trends emerged in the Spring/Summer 2015 season, such as the combination of furniture and sculpture, painting; the blending of cultures; or the rise of metal... These are some exciting suggestions for your home in the new year.

Trend 1: Inspiration from sculpture and painting

Interior design is beginning to show a deeper connection with fine arts such as painting and sculpture. With a contemporary style, innovative design, and integration of technology, this trend has become a favorite choice for those with discerning taste. Particularly noteworthy is the shift in materials used in interior design: from heavy, somber styles to more delicate and lightweight ones.

The black or white Aria pendant lights in designer Zaha Hadid's interior design exhibition are a perfect example of this trend. The ornate, complex glass chandeliers that once showcased the homeowner's luxury and status are becoming a thing of the past. Instead, light sculptures made from high-quality resin, inspired by natural sunlight, are gaining popularity.

Another example comes from colorful rugs that resemble paintings. Groups of pink and red bring softness when combined with bright colors like white, lime green, or orange; but they can also bring vibrancy when paired with earthy browns or warm grays.

Trend 2: Connecting nature and people

Nature has always been a great source of inspiration for human trends and creations. The 2015 Home Decor trend continues to emulate the flow of nature through earthy tones and rust colors, combined with warm shades like orange, yellow, and red. Images of landscapes and animals always create a warm and pleasant living space. If you love the vibrant carnival atmosphere of the Americas or the wildness of Africa, products with strong colors like bright red, plum, and pastel pink express a passion for life; especially suitable for the early year atmosphere in tropical climates.

In 2015, interior design in Vietnam drew inspiration from cultures around the world, including folk art, tribal styles, Eastern styles, and Persian styles. The connection between people and cultures was increasingly emphasized, not only in Vietnamese interior design but also globally.

Trend 3: The new language of color – Metallic finishes reign supreme.

While the past year was characterized by a free-spirited, gentle style with shades of blue like sea turquoise and scuba blue, and greens like Lucite green, 2015 marks the rise of warm and metallic tones such as copper orange and gold… Along with this shift in color, new trends in Home Decor are also inspired by the sincerity and warmth of these warm hues.

In particular, in 2015, interior designers will not be limited to one choice, with the trend of combining multiple colors of metallic and silver tones. You can freely combine different colors to create different effects, bringing a more diverse look to the room.

In the language of color, trends reflect our increasingly multifaceted lives. Even at international fashion weeks or major entertainment events like The Golden Globe Awards, metallic and silver colors seem to dominate the stage.
