Charter flights refer to flights chartered entirely to a specific itinerary requested by the charterer. Travel companies can charter the entire flight or partner with other companies to arrange flights for tourists according to the tour operator's schedule. This form of tourism is becoming increasingly popular due to the unique experiences offered by private flights, scheduled departures according to the tour operator's plan, and flexible flight times to best suit customers, especially large groups. Furthermore, the chartering company can request the airline to provide on-demand flight services to any airport the airline is authorized to operate at.

In Vietnam, several major travel companies, including Vietravel, have pioneered the implementation of charter flights in this format. On July 29th, Vietravel, in collaboration with its Japanese partner VJSC and Vietnam Airlines, brought Vietnamese tourists to Ibaraki Prefecture, a new destination on the Japanese tourism map with stunning scenic spots that are no less impressive than the well-known "Tokyo-Osaka Golden Route".

Along the itinerary, in addition to stunning stops such as the Ushiku Buddha statue (one of the tallest Buddha statues in the world), Fukuroda Waterfall – one of the three most beautiful waterfalls in Japan, Hitachinaka Seaside Park…, visitors can also watch and cheer on footballer Cong Phuong in the football match between Mito Hollyhock and Kanazawa, and socialize and have dinner with the player from Nghe An province.

It is known that in early 2016, Vietravel successfully organized four charter tours: Fukushima - Hitachi - Mito - Tokyo - Mount Fuji - Nikko - Fukushima (5 days), departing on March 27th and 31st; and April 4th and 8th, taking customers during the cherry blossom season. A total of 520 customers participated in these Japan charter tours. Following the success of this trip, Vietravel will continue to cooperate with airlines and Japanese partners to offer the best departure dates of the week to suit the sightseeing needs of tourists.
According to a representative from Vietravel travel company: "With its stunning scenery in all four seasons, Ibaraki Prefecture is an extremely attractive destination for Vietnamese tourists in the coming time. In spring, from March to early April, we will launch routes to view cherry blossoms; in summer, we will offer routes to see Nemophila flowers, the symbolic flower of Ibaraki city. For the autumn foliage season, Vietravel will also launch attractive itineraries so that tourists can clearly experience the culture, people, and scenery of Japan.” With the cooperation of airlines, service providers, and the active support of Ibaraki Prefecture, Vietravel will continuously launch tours to Ibaraki, especially the Diamond Route, which passes through three prefectures: Tokyo, Ibaraki, and Fukushima. This new route will combine scenic spots with shopping centers, allowing tourists to fully enjoy the natural beauty, the people, and authentic experiences of Japan. This is expected to be a new and exciting journey of discovery for tourists.
