Ho Chi Minh City Tourism participates in promoting investment, trade and tourism in Japan

From April 6 to 15, 2017, the Department of Tourism attended the program of the Ho Chi Minh City Investment - Trade and Tourism Promotion Delegation in Japan led by Comrade Dinh La Thang, Politburo member, Secretary of the City Party Committee.

 

Joined the Secretary throughout the working trip to Osaka, Hyogo, Nagano provinces and Tokyo Capital(Japan)are more than 40 high-ranking delegates representing Departments, sectors and businesses operating in many fields in the City. In particular, the tourism sector will be represented by Mr. La Quoc Khanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism; Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Director of the Tourism Promotion Center and representatives of the Saigon Tourist Corporation.(Saigontourist)join the escort.

In the context of the extensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan being in a very good development stage, the tourism industry between the two countries in general and between Ho Chi Minh City and Japan in particular has achieved encouraging results.

 

In addition to the purpose of promoting investment and trade, the visit to Japan by the City leaders is also an opportunity to further promote the image of Ho Chi Minh City as a tourist destination to the neighboring country and attract more investment in the tourism sector from businesses from the land of cherry blossoms with a series of events taking place from April 10 to 14, 2017 organized by the Department of Tourism in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports, and the ITPC Investment and Trade Promotion Center.


 

The working trip marked an important milestone in the close friendship between Vietnam and Japan in general and between Ho Chi Minh City and some localities of Japan. In particular, 2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of cooperative relations between the City and Osaka City.(1997), 10 years of cooperation between the City and Osaka Prefecture(2007), and is also a stepping stone to welcome the 45th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations.
