Cham Island (Tan Hiep commune, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province) is currently a favorite destination for many tourists. However, the island lacks diverse tourism products and fails to attract repeat visitors. To increase its appeal, the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee has approved the opening of underwater walking tours starting April 28th. Each underwater walking tour lasts approximately 20 minutes, with 2-3 minutes dedicated to watching an instructional video. The walking distance is about 15 meters. Participants wear a 32 kg sea helmet, but due to water pressure, they only bear about 7 kg of weight. Children will be provided with a weight-reducing ball. The price for this service is 950,000 VND per person. The price for a full tour package including meals and sightseeing is 1,350,000 VND per person.

Walking on the seabed allows tourists to enjoy moments of strolling along the beach, admiring the underwater scenery with hundreds of species of coral and aquatic animals.
Cham Island was recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve in 2009, therefore its seabed ecosystem is strictly protected. The tourism company implementing this activity stated that the underwater walking corridor was constructed in a way that would not harm coral reefs and marine life.
