In mid-2016, heavy rains caused mud and soil from the construction site of this project to wash down, flooding roads and overflowing into the homes of residents living at the foot of the hill.
At that time, the People's Committee of Ha Long City issued a decision to suspend the project until the unit rectified the problem. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment also requested a halt to construction, but subsequent construction continued, causing concern among residents near the project that a mudslide could recur.
The FLC Ha Long project, developed by FLC Group Joint Stock Company, is being built on a 224-hectare hill in Hong Ha ward, Ha Long city. With a total investment of 3,400 billion VND, the investor expects to complete the project in 2017.
