In its second week of release, Everest – a work with realistic scenes shot on snowy mountains by director Baltasar Kormakur – continues to maintain its form at the box office with 96.8 million USD worldwide (as of September 27).

In addition, Film Journal International, with 81 years of operation, also ranked Everest at number 2 in its list of most recommended movies of the week.

From September 25, this film based on the true story of the terrible snowstorm disaster that occurred on Mount Everest in 1996 was officially released to North American audiences. Up to now, a total of 62 markets have released Everest, in which, the majority of the countries' box offices have met or exceeded the target set by Universal. Notably, the Russian market has the leading revenue, reaching 2.6 million USD since the first week of release.

The film's selection as the opening film at the 72nd Venice Film Festival in early September helped the film win the hearts of audiences through positive reviews. The American newspaper - The Dallas Morning News - commented that "Everest reminds everyone of how small we are, especially when you enjoy the film in IMAX 3D". The New York Post affirmed that this film is completely worth the money that each audience spent on tickets because of the "chilling and thrilling" impression that the film creates.

Director Baltasar Kormakur confided that he carefully studied many different documents and the entire phone call recorded on May 10, 1996 at the Adventure Consultants camp to make Everest and this is considered one of the best combined film and documentary works in Hollywood.

The famous Australian newspaper - The Northern Star - also described the film as "beautiful and the pinnacle of emotions". Accordingly, the participation of top Hollywood stars such as Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke or Keira Knightley even helped Everest surpass expectations compared to action movies and reach a new height.

In Vietnam, the impressions and emotions of Everest also linger in the hearts of many audiences from all different fields, from VJs, poets to famous movie actors and singers. Actor Hua Vi Van expressed his feeling when seeing the scene of the helicopter flying by that "it was like I was in there, seeing the towering mountain peaks and the climbers like very small ants". VJ Tung Leo shared that thanks to Everest, he understood that nature is extremely "huge, fierce, can swallow human destiny but in the end still loses to the only thing, which is love and human courage". Poet Nguyen Phong Viet - author of the phenomenon published in Vietnam with the collection Di Qua Thuong Nho - affirmed that Everest is a movie that audiences "must watch" because of the concept of "cinema - the 7th art that can go deep into the human soul".
