Before its release, the film received many positive comments from experts and international film reporters. The Hollywood Report described Everest as “fascinating and captivating” while Time Out London magazine commented that the film was “astonishing”.

Everest is likened to a magical and thorny journey not only for the producers but also for the cast. The film is based on an extraordinary true story about the conquest of Mount Everest by mountain climbers with a passion for adventure.

Everest tells the story of two groups of climbers trying to conquer Mount Everest. One group is led by Scott Fischer (Jake Gyllenhaal) and the other by Rob Hall (Jason Clarke). This carefully planned journey suddenly encounters countless difficulties, challenges and deadly dangers due to a terrible snowstorm. In addition to the disaster and the extraordinary efforts of the mountaineering team, the film also touches the audience with its heartwarming stories of humanity. The audience will feel that the main content of the film is humanity in times of trouble.

To create realistic footage, director Baltasar Kurmakur had to spend a lot of time researching and filming scenes in -30 degrees Celsius weather conditions on snowy mountains. Meanwhile, actors like Jason Clark and Jake Gyllenhaal had to try their best to learn how to climb mountains and practice regularly to be able to portray the role of a mountain climber to the fullest.

Everest officially opens in Vietnam from September 18, 2015 in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D formats.
