Recently, LeVeL33 restaurant and bar in Singapore was officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the "World's Highest Craft Brewery", with an impressive height of 149.32 meters above ground.
As the name suggests, LeVeL33 officially opened in 2010 on the 33rd floor of Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 1. The restaurant not only stands out for its elevated brewery concept but is also a favorite destination for locals and tourists thanks to its stunning panoramic views of the Singapore skyline.

Journey to conquer the record
Building a 7,500-square-meter brewery on the 33rd floor of a skyscraper is no easy task. Martin Bem, founder of LeVeL33, said that while the height did not affect the brewing process, getting all the equipment up there was a big challenge. “We encountered a lot of difficulties, especially when transporting the equipment to the 33rd floor, which was unprecedented,” said Mr. Bem.

The brewing equipment was ordered from Europe. Because the building’s elevator was too small, the construction team had to dismantle part of the building’s exterior and use a crane to lift 12 tanks, two copper pots and a chiller. In addition, to ensure sufficient water pressure for the production process, LeVeL33 also had to install a 1,000-liter backup water tank.
Bem's bold plan was successful. After 15 years of operation, this beer house has become a culinary and architectural highlight in Singapore, becoming a familiar stop for beer lovers at home and abroad.
Unique craft beer experience
At LeVeL33, all beers are brewed on-site, with a mix of traditional and modern styles. A pint of beer here starts at SGD 16.90. More than just a place to enjoy beer, LeVeL33 also attracts diners with its open design, where copper beer tanks become part of the space.
LeVeL33's beer menu features familiar styles like IPAs and stouts, but the highlight is its Brut Beer – a collaboration with Champagne brand Barons de Rothschild – which is only available at the bar.

Thanks to its ideal location at a high altitude, diners can enjoy beer while admiring Singapore's outstanding buildings such as the Marina Bay Sands hotel with its rooftop infinity pool, the silver lotus-shaped ArtScience Museum, or the Singapore Flyer. The restaurant is especially crowded at sunset, when many people flock to admire the sunset skyline from the high floor and capture impressive moments.

From now on, the cans of the main beer line Blond Lager will feature the Guinness World Records logo - the most meaningful gift for all employees on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of operation.
Mr Bem revealed that the certification process took two months, including collecting documents from the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore and inviting experts to assess. The total cost for the entire process was more than S$20,000. He humorously likened the process to knowing you are the fastest runner in the world but still wanting to win an Olympic gold medal.
