The Techcombank International Marathon will start at the Saigon Zoo entrance and run through famous landmarks of Ho Chi Minh City such as: the International Building, Independence Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, City Theatre, and the City Hall. Runners will also pass through beautiful streets like Le Duan, Dong Khoi, Ton Duc Thang, Nguyen Hue, Vo Van Kiet, Calmette Bridge, Nguyen Huu Canh, Thu Thiem Bridge, and Nguyen Co Thach. After completing the race, runners will have the opportunity to admire the stunning cityscape of Ho Chi Minh City with its iconic high-rise buildings on the other side of the river, creating a vibrant picture. Participants are sure to take home unforgettable memories after this event.
Runners will have four distances to choose from in this year's race: 42.195 km, 21.1 km, 10 km, and the shortest distance of 5 km. The 5 km race was added to encourage everyone to participate, promote sportsmanship and outdoor engagement, and encourage those who have never run before to try their "first steps," thereby changing themselves for a healthier lifestyle. Therefore, the 5 km race is a great opportunity for you, your family, friends, and colleagues to experience and strive together to be better every day in life.
Kids Run – The Children's Race will take place on the afternoon of December 1st, 2018, within the Thu Thiem New Urban Area. This event is organized to encourage children to exercise, engage in physical activity, and participate in fun outdoor activities at the "Marathon Village".
Expo sponsor Manulife continues to bring the free "Marathon Village" experience from November 30th to December 1st-2nd, 2018 at Empire City, Thu Thiem New Urban Area. Athletes receiving race kits and visitors will have the opportunity to attend health and nutrition seminars, shop for specialized sportswear and equipment, enjoy diverse food options, and browse booths showcasing outstanding products from the program's suppliers and sponsors. In addition, visitors to the "Marathon Village" can enjoy vibrant musical performances, participate in prize draws, and enjoy other fun activities over the three weekend days.
By participating in the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon, athletes not only get to test their limits on the race course but also have the opportunity to change the lives of those around them through their running. For every kilometer completed within the time limit, the organizers will contribute 10,000 VND to the Fund for the Poor and the Fund for Supporting Young Talents in Ho Chi Minh City.
