16/12/2014

Within the framework of the “Italy-Vietnam 2014” program, on December 20, 2014, at “Casa Italia” (18 Le Phung Hieu), an event with the theme “Christmas in Italy: traditions, rituals and culinary practices” will take place.

The event opened with a performance by Maestro Ton That Triem and the choir of several famous Italian Christmas songs, including “Tu scendi dalle stelle” (“You come down from the stars”).

Then VivereVietnam, a project of Italian Language and Culture lecturers, will introduce some customs, practices and typical dishes for Christmas.

The highlight of the event was the official unveiling of the Christmas tree and manger, prepared by VivereVietnam and several Vietnamese students from universities and other organizations. In addition, the significance of children and adults in Italy preparing these things during Christmas was also briefly explained.

The event ended with a toast to Christmas (and the upcoming New Year) for everyone with “Spumante” (Italian champagne) and an Italian Christmas cake (“il Panettone”).
