16/12/2014

As part of the "Italy-Vietnam 2014" program, an event themed "Christmas in Italy: Traditions, Rituals and Culinary Customs" will take place on December 20, 2014, at "Casa Italia" (18 Le Phung Hieu Street).

The event opened with a performance by Maestro Ton That Triem and the choir featuring several famous Italian Christmas songs, including "Tu scendi dalle stelle" ("You come down from the stars").

Following that, VivereVietnam, a project by Italian Language and Culture lecturers, will introduce some customs, traditions, and typical dishes for Christmas.

The highlight of this event is the official unveiling of the Christmas tree and nativity scene prepared by VivereVietnam and several Vietnamese students from universities and other organizations. Additionally, a brief explanation of the significance of children and adults in Italy preparing these items during Christmas will be given.

The event concluded with a Christmas (and upcoming New Year) toast for everyone, featuring “Spumante” (Italian champagne) and Italian Christmas cake (“il Panettone”).
