Instead of being subject to medical quarantine regulations, travelers from Vietnam to South Korea are required to complete their COVID-19 vaccination program, have a negative test result before flying, and register with the Korean vaccination management system (Q-code) upon entry. To confirm they have received all doses of the vaccine, travelers can directly provide their vaccination information through the declaration system and attach a certificate of completion of vaccination for verification.
After uploading the information, users will be given a unique QR code, which they can then simply print or save to their phone to complete the airport quarantine process.

Previously, South Korea had announced a quarantine exemption for international travelers starting March 21st, with only citizens from four countries—Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and Myanmar—not being eligible for this exemption.
However, on March 21, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) issued a new announcement, classifying Vietnam as a country requiring enhanced quarantine measures starting April 1. This means that anyone arriving in South Korea from Vietnam (including South Korean citizens) will be subject to stricter regulations, even if they have been fully vaccinated.
As soon as South Korea announced the implementation of the measure, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs immediately requested the South Korean government to make appropriate adjustments. And after many days of effort by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea, the policy of easing entry regulations for Vietnamese citizens entering South Korea was approved.
