According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in July, the number of visitors to Hanoi reached nearly 1.2 million, an increase of 51.2% compared to June 2020.

Of the 1.2 million tourists who visited the capital, international visitors were estimated at 16,600, a 26.9% increase compared to the previous month, mostly business travelers, diplomats, and foreign workers. Domestic tourists were estimated at 1.18 million, a 51.6% increase compared to the previous month, including 437,000 domestic tourists staying overnight and 744,000 day-trip visitors. Total revenue from tourism was estimated at 3,475 billion VND, a 50.2% increase compared to the previous month.

In the first seven months of 2020, Hanoi received an estimated 6.13 million tourists, a decrease of 63.3% compared to the same period last year. Of these, approximately 1 million were international tourists and 5.13 million were domestic tourists. Total revenue from tourism was estimated at 22,426 billion VND.

In August, the Hanoi Department of Tourism will continue to implement information technology in state management of tourism; direct units, businesses, organizations, and individuals engaged in tourism business in the city to strictly comply with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control in the new situation; and continue to monitor the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the operation of travel agencies, transportation, accommodation establishments, and tourist destinations in the city.
