At 10:00 a.m. on March 27, 2022, the Organizing Committee of the 2022 Hot Air Balloon Festival announced the temporary suspension of hot air balloon flight experience services in the Long Bien longan garden area to ensure the safety of visitors.
Previously, on the 25th and 26th, the hot air balloon festival attracted a large number of people and tourists to experience and check-in. There were two types of hot air balloons used: level 1, which cannot carry people, and level 7, which is 22 m high and about 18 m in diameter according to international standards. Level 7 hot air balloons have a lifting capacity of up to 600 kg and have flown in several other Southeast Asian countries.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism said that after this festival, hot air balloons will be a regular tourism product of Hanoi to attract tourists and promote tourism.
The "Colorful Hanoi" hot air balloon festival is part of the program "Hanoi Tourism Welcomes 2022 - Get on Hanoi 2022", which is the first event in a series of events, festivals, promotional programs, and exciting tourism promotion to restart domestic and international tourism activities to attract tourists to Hanoi.
