About half of the cherry blossom trees at the exhibition have begun to bloom, and they will continue to bloom for the next one to two weeks. This is the first time visitors to the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay have seen so many varieties of cherry blossoms in bloom.

Many varieties of cherry blossoms are displayed in Japanese garden style.
More than 20 varieties of cherry blossoms with the common name sakura are introduced to the public in the exhibition program. Visitors can admire many different varieties of cherry blossoms such as Fujishidare with its characteristic weeping branches, Yedoenis Yoshino with its outstanding white flowers or Accolade with its special light pink color.
Besides the blooming Japanese cherry trees, other cherry varieties are also blooming here. In addition, visitors can also see Genpei Shidare cherry branches with two colors of red and white flowers on the same tree.
Inspired by traditional Japanese gardens, the exhibition “Blossom Beats” will introduce to viewers unique Japanese cultural elements such as tori gates, kimonos, etc.

“Gardens by the Bay was created to be a popular tourist attraction where people can enjoy flowers that are rarely found in Singapore. With that in mind, this year we decided to showcase different varieties of cherry blossoms,” said Felix Loh, Managing Director of Gardens by the Bay.
“Together with the Japanese-style garden, we hope that the “Blossom Beats” exhibition will provide visitors with memorable and unique experiences,” he added.
Since the natural blooming season is short, the program will last for one to two weeks. The experimental exhibition is scheduled to end on March 27.

In addition to the cherry blossom exhibition, the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay will be themed throughout 2016, showcasing new varieties of flowers. From April 8 to May 22, the Tulipmania exhibition will return to Gardens by the Bay.
The brilliant tulips grown in the mighty Ottoman Empire – now Turkey – have long been a source of inspiration for poetry and painting. Visitors will be overwhelmed by the carpets of colorful tulips appearing in the Persian-style exhibition.
Tulipmania is the third musical flower exhibition to take place at Gardens by the Bay in 2016. Take part in a musical adventure around the world, welcoming the harmony of nature with the rhythmic beats of Taiko drums, the nostalgic sounds of jukeboxes, and the rhythm of tribal dances.
Not stopping there, the flower exhibitions combined with music at Flower Dome will continue to be changed and introduced to the public, including:
+ Lily exhibition called “Lilytopia Retro Revival” takes place from June 3 to July 10, 2016
+ The orchid exhibition to celebrate Singapore's National Day, called Songbird Serenade, will take place from 22 July to 28 August 2016.
+ The South American tropical flower exhibition called “Tribal Tempo” takes place from September 9 to October 30, 2016
