Vietnam International Tourism Fair (VITM) 2018 'promotes' online tourism.

The Vietnam International Tourism Fair (VITM) 2018 is scheduled to take place from March 29th to April 1st, 2018 at the ICE Exhibition Center (91 Tran Hung Dao, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) with the theme "Online Tourism" to further promote the application of information technology in the business of tourism enterprises.

Within the framework of the Fair, the Vietnam Tourism Association will cooperate with the Vietnam E-commerce Association to set up a fair area with over 40 booths dedicated to businesses operating online tourism services and providers of technology solutions for tourism.

In addition, VITM 2018 also organized a seminar on e-commerce development in tourism, with the participation of several international and domestic experts who introduced the experiences of developing online tourism from some typical IT and tourism businesses in fields such as: mobile internet, smart applications, big data, virtual reality, automation in the fields of hotels, travel, tourism transportation and tourism services.

The Vietnam Tourism Association will also continue to cooperate with Tripi.vn to improve the VITM online trading platform to further support tourism businesses in implementing tourism stimulus activities throughout the year.

According to Vu The Binh, Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association, in addition to activities and programs at the fair, the Vietnam Tourism Association will conduct surveys of member tourism businesses nationwide to comprehensively assess the current state of IT application in businesses and propose appropriate solutions to rapidly develop e-commerce in the tourism industry. Simultaneously, in coordination with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the E-commerce Association, the Association will implement several suitable support programs for businesses, such as opening training courses on e-commerce skills, organizing specialized seminars on online tourism, and establishing an e-commerce platform for tourism businesses (hotels, travel agencies, and service providers).
