The "Bulgarian Rose Festival & Friends" 2018 will be held at Ho Tay Water Park from March 8-11, 2018.

The 2018 Rose Festival was held to celebrate the 68th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Bulgaria. Simultaneously, it commemorated Bulgaria's National Day on March 3rd and International Women's Day on March 8th. Within the framework of the festival, besides showcasing beautiful and unique rose bushes, it also provided an opportunity for cultural exchange and introduction of Vietnamese and Bulgarian cultures.

The organizers announced that they have prepared over 1,000 rose bushes imported from Bulgaria, comprising 114 varieties, which will be displayed in various settings: a rose street, a Vietnamese rose garden, a European rose garden, a rose house, etc. In addition, there will be ancient Vietnamese rose bushes, some several decades old or more, and bonsai roses. Notably, there will be an exhibition featuring an ancient rose bush over 200 years old.

During the festival, there will be many special activities such as: the Queen of Rose voting contest, a presentation of unique Bulgarian street food and international friends, a Vietnamese-Bulgarian cultural exchange, a music festival featuring bands from Bulgaria and Vietnamese artists, a street parade, and the throwing of flowers by the Queen of Rose and the Kid of Rose.

The entrance fee to the festival is 120,000 VND per person.

First held in the spring of 2017, the Bulgarian Rose Festival failed to impress due to its rudimentary and unprofessional organization. The organizers stated they would learn from this experience and strive to provide visitors with a truly spectacular event this year.
