The 2018 Rose Festival was held to celebrate the 68th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Bulgaria. At the same time, it also celebrated Bulgaria's National Day on March 3 and International Women's Day on March 8. In addition to displaying beautiful and unique rose bushes, the festival is also an opportunity to exchange and introduce Vietnamese and Bulgarian culture.
The Organizing Committee said that it had prepared more than 1,000 imported rose trees from Bulgaria, including 114 types, divided into displays and arranged in miniature landscapes: rose street, Vietnamese rose garden, European rose garden, rose house, etc. In addition, there were ancient Vietnamese rose trees that were several decades old or older, and bonsai rose trees. In particular, there was an ancient rose tree over 200 years old on display.
During the festival days, there will be many special activities such as: Queen of Rose voting contest, Introducing Bulgaria's unique street food & international friends, Vietnam - Bulgaria cultural exchange, Music festival performed by bands from Bulgaria and Vietnamese artists, Street parade, flower throwing by Queen of Rose and Kid of Rose.
Ticket price to visit the Festival is 120,000/person.
Held for the first time in the spring of 2017, the Bulgarian Rose Festival did not leave much of an impression due to its lack of organization and professionalism. The Organizing Committee said it would learn from experience in this year's Festival and satisfy visitors.
